Reporting to the Manager, Communication, you will play an instrumental role in our team’s mission to inspire and engage our employees across the Definity family of brands and capture the attention of our broker partners through compelling stories. Your exceptional writing and research skills will delight and captivate our audience from headline to CTA, across a broad range of mediums.

This multi-disciplinary role is an excellent fit for a seasoned communication professional who wants to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and business units.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Consult on and develop communication strategies and plans to support the execution of business initiatives
- Offer creative approaches to writing assignments that communicate corporate and business messages to employee and broker audiences
- Plan, write, edit, and publish a variety of communication materials, including corporate and executive messages, presentations, speaking engagement and video scripts, event communication collateral, and digital content
- Develop clear, digestible, and compelling communications that can be quickly and easily understood
- Work with business stakeholders to ensure key messages are developed and conveyed appropriately to align with strategic objectives
- Work closely with other members of the Integrated Marketing & Communication team, such as Creative Design, Public & Media Relations, social media, and Marketing & Brand Strategy to ensure message alignment
- Pitch story ideas on unique ways to advance our corporate narrative
- Participate in project meetings to proactively solicit and capture internal communication opportunities, as well as take responsibility for their execution

**Experience and skills**:

- Must have at least five years of progressive communication experience in a fast-paced environment
- Intimate understanding of traditional and digital communication channels
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Excellent research, writing, and editing skills
- Resourceful, organized, and able to work within deadlines and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to develop and implement innovative communications about complex issues
- Tactical planning, project implementation, and problem-solving skills
- Experience consulting with peers and leaders on best practices for communication
- Strong collaboration skills and proven ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across diverse business groups
- Proven ability to measure business impact of communication efforts
- Experience in insurance or financial services is an asset

**Education**:

- University degree or college diploma in English, Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or Business
- Post-graduate certification in related discipline an asset
