**Job Summary**
The Junior Coordinator, Legislative Affairs is responsible for providing support in the management of legislative files. This includes construction projects, decommissioning of railway lines, as well as cost apportionment agreements for the construction and maintenance of private, public, and utility crossings.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Assist with the regulatory process by coordinating smaller, less complex projects and support the Manager, Legislative Affairs in complex files
- Place advertisements in newspapers and monitoring statutory timelines
- Assist in crossing issues and contractual agreements (e.g., private, public, and utility crossings) with municipalities, landowners, and utility companies
- Provide support for the regulatory discontinuance process with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with Canada Transportation Act (CTA) and the timely discontinuance and sale of lines and spurs
- Search for background on railway crossings
- Record and monitor milestones
- Proceed with record keeping, data entry, monitoring of statutory timelines and updating tracking systems associated with projects
**Working Conditions**
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday and is eligible to participate in CN hybrid work policy. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.

**Experience**
Regulatory or Legal Processes
- Minimum 2 years of experience with regulatory or legal processes
**Education/Certification/Designation**
- A Paralegal Degree or relevant legal experience
**Competencies**

**Technical Skills/Knowledge**
- Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)
