As a Barclays Vice President Barclays Canada Tax, you will be accountable for being the Head of Tax in Canada and also an integral team member of the Canada Finance team of four (4) people reporting to the CFO and Treasurer for Canada. The functions of the department include the preparation of financial accounts, local regulatory reporting, local MIS reporting, local tax compliance, capital and liquidity reporting and monitoring, complete local statutory audit requirements, and transactional advisory.

**What will you be doing?**
- Managing month end, quarter end, and year end closing activities for all tax accounts including journal entry postings and perform tax account continuity schedules
- Leading and managing timely filing and installment payment of all month end and year end local tax compliance returns with external tax consultant
- Ensuring timely analysis and disclosure for all tax accounts as required for both group level and local reporting purposes
- Reviewing monthly on transfer pricing and global recharging settlement and working closely with global transfer pricing personnel to ensure consistency in methodologies
- Responding as required to external tax authority inquiry and examinations and implementing and evaluating procedures/controls to mitigate Canadian tax risk
- Monitoring Canada tax legislation and updating senior management on any legislation that could impact Barclays
- Maintaining and updating internal tax policies and procedures locally for Canada and representing tax on all New Product and Transaction Review Committees
- Advising on products and transactional issues as they arise from front office or through internal tax initiatives and completing special projects and other duties as assigned

**What we’re looking for**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Qualified CA and CPA
- Several years’ experience with Canada tax compliance and tax reporting process and knowledge in transfer pricing, indirect tax and corporate tax issues of financial situations
- PC skills (Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Completed CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Courses
- Knowledge of banking products and their regulatory requirements
- Experience with regulatory returns to IIROC, OSFI preferred but not required
- Preferably with experience as a SAP user
