**Your Opportunity**:
Community Behavior specialist Reporting to the Care Manager of Addiction and Mental Health Housing the and as part of an interdisciplinary clinical consultation and support team, the Community Behavior Specialist (CBS) works within an interdisciplinary approach in the provision of in-reached recovery and harm reduction oriented consultation, health system navigation and transition planning services to individuals residing in short term bridge housing initiatives as well as other housing initiatives in the AHS, Addiction and Mental Health Housing Portfolio. Clinical services are delivered in clinic and community and housing settings. Effective collaboration with families, service providers and a range of other stakeholders is also an expectation of the service. The position is responsible for providing a holistic perspective of individuals’ health, well-being and level of functioning, in a manner that contributes to the individual’s quality of life and their membership in community. Assessment, care planning, crisis intervention and providing clinical guidance for staff in the area of behavioral management and support, are all expected duties of this position. Essential to the skill set of the CBS is the ability to demonstrate leadership in terms of program development, administrative responsibilities and mentoring through the modeling of hands-on recovery-oriented behavioral plans, as well as assisting with maintaining standards relating to health, safety, and operations of the home/activity area.

**Description**:
As a Clinical Behavioural Specialist (CBS), you will work in a consultative role within the interdisciplinary team. You will support the client in the following ways: psychological testing, crisis intervention, observation and interaction throughout the development and analysis of behaviour tracking data, the creation of programs and guidelines that focus on client strengths, the development of a collaborative recovery client focused care plan. You will be responsible for providing a holistic perspective of the clients' health, well-being and level of functioning, in a manner that contributes to the clients' quality of life. Essential to the skill set of the CBS is your ability to demonstrate leadership in terms of program development, administrative responsibilities and mentoring through the model of hands-on recovery-oriented care, as well as assisting with maintaining standards relating to health, safety, and operations of the home and activity area.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology. Minimum of two years' experience in a Mental Health setting. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS - HCP). Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification. Possession of a valid driver's licence and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Behavior Specialist in a community mental health or clinical inpatient setting. An Excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment record and references.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Knowledge of and ability to respond to cultural needs of diverse populations is also an asset. Experience in community capacity building and community development specific to this population and working with multiple stakeholders is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft office, Excel and use of Connect Care and Strata Health Pathways.
