- **What You Will Do**

Under the direction of the National Conservation PRO Coordinator and dotted reporting line to the Director of Regional Operations (DRO), the Regional Conservation PRO Lead provides leadership and advice to the Conservation PRO group with the goal of generating revenue within DUC’s fee for service business streams.

A key element to this role is building and maintaining business relationships with prospective and existing clients, raising awareness on DUC relevance, and acquiring new business. This position requires strong skills in business development and marketing, client recruitment, management and retention.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Is an active member of the Conservation PRO Team relating to client services including development of annual operations and objectives, planning, and workforce planning.
- Leads and coordinates the development of business opportunities that can be marketed to clients.
- Provides leadership and assists in the coordination, development and submission of proposals, cost estimates, project reports, site plans, and state of knowledge documents.
- Provides leadership in new business development for Conservation PRO in the provincial and regional levels.
- Develops and acquires diverse business opportunities by seeking and maintaining business relationships with industry, government, educational institutes, private and public consultants, and DUC staff to increase Conservation PRO market share.
- Supports the National Conservation PRO Coordinator in the development of improved business practices to increase Conservation PRO revenue surplus from program delivery.

**Requirements**:

- At least 7 years of experience in or around sectors such as: Environmental Services, Agriculture, Forestry, Energy or related field
- University degree in business, commerce, marketing, science or natural resources.
- Broad knowledge of provincial wetland and environmental regulations and wetland conservation policies, Species at Risk Act, the Federal Canadian Environmental Assessment process and the Fisheries Act.
- Expert level knowledge across major resource industries, government operations and processes.
- Knowledge in markets and competition within ESG.
- Entrepreneurial skills and ability to predict upcoming trends in industry/development sectors that may lead to new opportunities.
- Strong business acumen to determine how to maximize net revenue.
- Strong negotiating skills in dealing with clients who may have annual environmental services requirements.
- Must be comfortable presenting to various stakeholders and delivering proposals.
- Strong and quick decision-making skills are essential in order to evaluate and prioritize new opportunities as they arise.
- Strong knowledge and experience in budget planning, reporting and project management.
- Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet with external clients.
- Must have the ability to travel within the region of responsibility and occasionally across Canada.
