When our clients experience a fire, flood or other disaster, natural or man-made, we respond 24/7/365 to help them recover and get things back to normal. We are a preferred vendor to many of Canada’s largest insurance companies.
We currently have an immediate opening for a Estimation and Compliance Lead to join our Parksville based team. The successful applicant must be comfortable to commute to Parksville as well as other locations on central Vancouver Island. This position could also be considered for remote/ hybrid work with the right candidate.
What you will do:
Provide a full range of estimating services/support to the PMs for specific projects where requested/directed.
Ensure all estimates for which services/support are provided meet any applicable client guidelines and protocols.
Ensure all estimates for which services/support are provided meet company guidelines/targets for quality and profitability.
Resolve estimating discrepancies and/or aid decision making by analyzing information.
Create and submit estimate reports and/or bid packages as required and in accordance with Company procedures after receiving approval from the Project Management Team.
Support the project management team in communication with adjusters via Xactanalyis and ClaimsConnect
Maintain a strong technical knowledge relative to restoration estimating. Stay abreast of current and future industry trends.
Identify labor and material cost trends and propose/implement strategies to limit any adverse effect on project profitability.
Determine key productivity variables for project costing and propose/implement strategies to limit any adverse financial effect.
Monitor and review all company estimating output (profitability, quality, etc.) and provide in-house training and mentoring to all PMs and PCs as necessary in order to ensure continuous improvement of the estimating function.
Act as the process owner for all estimating processes.
Act as the in-house expert/trainer for Xactimate and any other estimating relevant software.
Compliance
Maintain a full understanding of all KPI and program requirements for the Company’s insurance clients, independent adjusters and DKI.
Provide real-time monitoring of KPI compliance and deliver real-time direction to the relevant project management staff to ensure all requirements are met.
Review all external reports/feedback on KPI performance, identify opportunities for improvement and provide training/mentoring to project management staff as necessary.
Act as the in-house expert/trainer for all compliance related procedures and software, including the process steps required by all insurers.
Provide monthly and ad-hoc reports to senior management on compliance performance.
Employee Engagement/Leadership
Provide constructive feedback to senior management on individual Project Managers KPI and estimating performance.
Support a culture of ‘employer of choice’ to attract, retain and motivate the best project.
Other
Any other tasks/activities that may, from time to time, be reasonably requested by the Company.
Key Requirements
Education/Knowledge
Solid understanding of project costing/estimating and invoicing as it relates to the construction, restoration and property insurance claims industries.
Detailed understanding of project management techniques and requirements as they relate to the construction, restoration and property insurance claims industries.
Detailed understanding of reconstruction practices for property that has suffered water, wind, mold, fire and vandalism damages.
Expert user in Xactimate, Xactanalysis, CoreLogic/Symbility and ClaimsConnect.
Knowledge of restoration industry software.
Understanding of Operational Excellence tools/techniques (KPI, continuous improvement, root cause analysis, etc.)
Knowledge of the laws and ordinances regulating building construction in the Province of British Columbia.
