**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

Do you possess the skills and knowledge to aid in the development of an anti-money laundering compliance program for online gaming, from the ground up, including an extensive background in anti-money laundering (AML) compliance and knowledge of the requirements established under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations? Reporting to the Executive Director, as the Director AML Compliance, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing administration of the Government of Alberta’s AML compliance program for Alberta’s new online gambling model, including the development and oversight of AML policies, and guidance documents, training requirements, risk assessments and reporting systems.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement an effective AML compliance program for the Government of Alberta, to support the conduct and management of online gaming, including ensuring that all federal AML reporting obligations are met.
- Lead the Government of Alberta’s AML compliance program for online gaming, including monitoring the ongoing effectiveness of the program and identifying and implementing measures that provide early warning of potential gaps in meeting program objectives.
- Understand, and provide advice to executive management on, the Government of Alberta’s AML obligations related to the conduct and management of online gaming, including the development of strategies to ensure effective compliance with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations, and FINTRAC reporting requirements.
- Lead a team to meet Alberta’s online gambling obligations under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations (e.g., customer identification, record keeping, FINTRAC transaction reporting, and compliance reporting/audit, etc.), including oversight of any training requirements.
- Provide advice to industry stakeholders to ensure effective compliance and AML/suspicious transaction reporting.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, as needed, to support the development of effective reporting systems and IT platforms, and ensure compliance with all relevant federal and provincial legislation, regulation, and policies.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Minimum Requirements:
- A post-secondary degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, criminology, business administration).
- PLUS a minimum of 7 years of management experience in an AML compliance environment.
- Equivalencies may be considered on a one-for-one basis.
Experience or knowledge that will be considered and asset:
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent designation.
- Proven experience in developing and launching new program initiatives from concept to execution, such as but not limited to an AML Compliance Program.
- Experience with and knowledge of money laundering typologies and risk mitigation controls.
- Experience building a high-performing team.
- Experience using data to inform strategic planning and decision-making, determine potential trends, and recommend actions.
- Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, preparing project plans, tracking progress and reporting to leadership.
- Familiarity with the use of office technologies and computer programs such as Microsoft Office
This is a full-time permanent position located in Edmonton, AB.
Salary Range: $4274.26 to $5427.68 bi-weekly ($111,558 - $141,662/year).
