Edmonton, Canada Rural Development Network Full time

This is a temporary, full time, 1 year position until April 2024, with a strong possibility of extension.

**Responsibilities**:
This position will report to the Director, Homelessness Initiatives and will manage several staff on the team. Duties to include:

- Assist the Director with delivering program requirements for Reaching Home’s (RH) Rural and Remote funding stream as dictated by legal contracts with Service Canada, including: Manage and support a team of staff with completing federal government reporting requirements and ensure deadlines are met;
- Assist with preparing all required reporting and related documentation, including quarterly subproject financial and activity reporting, annual online reporting, and government financial monitors including audits;
- Help coordinate programming and content for RDN events pertaining to Homelessness, including the Canadian Rural & Remote Housing and Homelessness Symposium;
- Reviewing and overseeing project financial claims, assessing eligibility of expenses, and ensuring adherence to the approved project budgets;
- Liaising with subproject groups as needed, including communicating reporting requirements;
- Maintaining databases and detailed electronic and paper records of financials, reporting, contracts and other documents;
- Maintaining and improving program processes where needed;
- Gathering feedback from subprojects and individuals receiving services from subprojects and communicating information to different levels of government and stakeholders;
- Advocacy regarding funding investment and policy development in relation to rural homelessnessetc.

Other responsibilities as time permits:

- Assist with coordinating Calls for Proposal (CFP) for new provincial or federal rural homelessness funding when available;
- Assist with the coordination of meetings for the provincial and national networks that RDN hosts, including preparing discussion topics, taking meeting minutes, and helping to find new members;
- Assist with coordination of other rural homelessness projects and research funding opportunities;
- Assist with other project administration as time permits.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
RDN is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented team player with a passion for supporting rural communities, with exceptional administrative and supervisory skills. Additional areas of strength would include:

- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in an administrative capacity is preferred with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
- Able to handle sensitive matters and confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Strong financial and record management skills as the position requires a great deal of administrative duties
- Very detail oriented
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel
- Knowledge of, or experience working with homelessness and/or rural Alberta is an asset
- Demonstrated project or program administration experience is an asset
- Knowledge of auditing processes and procedures is an asset

**Education & Position Requirements**:

- Education in a related area such as administration, accounting, bookkeeping or other related experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in an administrative capacity is preferred.
- Able to handle sensitive matters and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
