**About the Role**:
The Area Leader is responsible to support the Team Members in the performance of their duties focusing on safety, people, quality, productivity and all company/regulatory policies and procedures

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Leads and schedules the activities of team members
- Develops Team Members through coaching and mentoring
- Promotes principles of PIC and SPQP
- Facilitates daily shift meetings and communicates team talks
- Establishes and maintains effective communications with all Departments
- Participates in manpower planning and recruiting
- Promotes accountability by providing formal and informal performance feedback to Team Members which includes Performance Appraisals
- Monitors, tracks and improves upon key indicators.
- Provides training to new and transferring Team Members as per the training matrix including cross training to maximize flexibility supporting SPQP
- Leads Team Members in accordance with the principles of the Magna Employee’s Charter and the policies and procedures set out in the Company Handbook and Company Credo
- Manages departmental labour, maximizing resources to meet established objectives in accordance with an approved manpower plan
- Plans and directs the efficient utilization of all equipment and manpower
- Knows and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements as they relate to this job function
- Adheres to Modatek’s Core Values: Integrity, Respect, Trust, Honesty, Fairness and Loyalty
- Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as Outlined in the Team Member Handbook, Quality and Environmental Programs (i.e. TS16949, ISO14001)
- Understands, promotes and lives by Magna’s philosophies and the Employee’s Charter
- Performs other duties as required

**Who we are looking for**:

- Minimum four (4) years leadership experience in manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
- Minimum two years Modatek Team Leader experience
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient in computer use
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
