**About the Role**:
The Team Leader is responsible to assist the Area Leader in coordination of day-to-day operations, ensuring the safe and timely completion of work conforms to safety, people, quality, productivity and all regulations outlined by Modatek Systems and/or the customer. Provides support to all Team Members
**Your Responsibilities**:
- Understand, promote and live by Magna’s philosophies and the Employee’s Charter
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving results
- Takes the initiative to see that things get done
- Assist the Area Leader in all facets of the operation
- Maintains accurate documentation or production and personnel records
- Assists in troubleshooting of equipment to ensure quality and efficiency
- Ensures that all operator safety devises function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
- Monitors and maintains good housekeeping in all designated work areas
- Maintains time and attendance systems
- Schedules all shift and work requirements
- Offers overtime on an equalization basis and supports Team Members in meeting all requirements
- Conducts Team and Safety Talks as required; communicates with Materials Team Members engineering changes and production/Quality issues
- Perform duties of Team Members for absences, relief, etc.
- Oversee rail dock activity, rail traffic, yard activities, truck traffic, shipping and receiving and material handling activities for the production environment
- Assist in the development of the layout for material storage, ensuring effective and efficient use of space, shop floor movement
- Provide feedback to the Area Leader in regards to job performance for completion of performance reviews of material handlers
- Monitor manpower utilization and provide input into adjusting according to needs
- Encourage professional development to enhance team performance. Cross -train Team Members to maximize flexibility and coverage to accommodate vacations and absences
- Work/Communicate with materials Program Planners to ensure correct part placement and movement (i.e. Engineering Change, Non-Conforming material)
- Practice and promote continuous improvement of materials process and take advantage of all cost reduction opportunities
- Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (ie. IATF 16949, ISO14001)
- Understand, promote and live by Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter
- Adhere to Modatek’s core values; integrity, respect, trust, honesty, fairness and loyalty
- Perform all other duties as required
**Who we are looking for**:
- One (1) year experience in materials
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must participate and pass a Forklift Operator Training Course (theory and practical)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities
- Developed interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Computer literate, preferable experience with an inventory scanning system (CMS Preferred)
- Required to work overtime to meet customer needs
- Maybe be required to work other shifts
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
