**PERMANENT FULL-TIME CLINICAL MANAGER**

**MENTAL HEALTH**

**NBRHC - North Bay
The Clinical Manager reports to the Director, Mental Health and supports the Mental Health & Addictions
Services portfolio. The Manager is responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of the

Children’s Mental Health Program inclusive of inpatient and outpatient services, as well as the Early Psychosis
Intervention (EPI) and Eating Disorders outpatient programs. The Manager provides organizational and system

leadership for the overall coordination and program development for these priority populations.

**DUTIES INCLUDE**:

Leads and collaborates with inter-professional health care teams to achieve operational and patient
- centered care objectives within the programs; collaborates to develop and promote integrated care
pathways.

Provides leadership to create and maintain practice environments that support a culture of safety and
continuous quality improvement in partnership with staff/affiliates, patients, families, and community
partners.

Facilitates staff and team learning and development, fosters clinical competence, and promotes the

Manages the program’s human resources; oversees recruitment and retention to support program
needs, supervises day-to-day activity, sets performance targets and evaluates employee performance.

Develops annual budgets, considers peer benchmark comparators, and monitors staffing patterns,
operational costs and activity volumes, taking corrective action as required.

Acts as a mentor, a motivator, and an advocate for the staff and programs, and plays a key role in
shaping future direction.

**EDUCATION: **

A bachelor’s degree with a specialization within a health related field from an accredited university 
Master’s Degree in business or a health related discipline is an asset 
Current certificate of registration in good standing with an applicable regulatory college is required.

**CERTICICATES/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: **

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working as a health professional in a health care environment 
Minimum of two (2) years working in a leadership/supervisory role, preferably in a health care environment

**SKILLS/ABILITIES**: 

Demonstrated excellence in clinical reasoning, critical thinking skills, assessment, documentation,
intervention and care planning skills 

Superior leadership, communication, team building and creative problem solving skills 
Excellent human resource management skills including recruitment, retention and motivation of staff 
Demonstrated cultural awareness and competencies in working with patients and care partners from

diverse backgrounds. 

Excellent budgeting and financial management skills 
Experience with change management and innovation 
Proficient computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and patient information

systems. 

Knowledge of human resources/labour relation practices, relevant government legislation (e.g. Mental Health
Act), and principles of management 

Understanding of multiple regulated health professions and associated Acts 
Familiarity with collective agreements, scheduling 
Demonstrated time management, prioritization and organizational skills 
Demonstrated commitment to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events required 
Must demonstrate good attendance 
Bilingualism may be required as determined by compliance with the French Language Services Act
