**Position Title: Technical Service Specialist**
**About the position**
Reporting to the General Manager, the Technical Service Specialist (TSS) will be responsible for supporting our Sales team on a technical level through lab trials and field trials for product selection and operational improvements and optimization at our customers operations. The position is heavily focused on the Mining and Water Treatment sectors. This position also serves as our plant quality control, running our onsite laboratory and related functions.

**What you’ll do**
- Identify value added product options for customers operations focused heavily on Frothers, Collectors, Flocculants and Coagulants.
- Conducting lab scale trials at our Richmond lab heavily focused on Mining and Water Treatment products and projects.
- Conduct field trials at customers operations to confirm and verify lab findings in full plant trial environments.
- Function as the sites quality control, test production sample batches, create certificate of analysis and upload documents into SAP.
- Work with internal team and/or customers on new product formulations
- Respond to various customer’s technical or chemical performance queries.
- Deliver internal technical training to personnel as required.
- Regular field travel within British Columbia is required. (20%)
**What we would like from you**
- Post-secondary training in chemical science, chemical or petroleum engineering.
- 2-3 years of experience in technical sales or marketing (preferred but not required)
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of mineral processing with a focus on gold and copper beneficiation and ability to communicate effectively with metallurgists.
- High level knowledge of various mineral process chemicals such as Collectors, frothers, depressants, dispersants, modifiers, antiscalants, dust suppressants,
- Strong knowledge of the operation of Water and Wastewater treatment plants with a strong emphasis on coagulation and flocculation chemistries.
- Experience with the following lab scale equipment preferred; Scion 456 GC-FID, Perkin Elmer Spectrum, FT-IR, Hach DR 1900 Spectrophotometer, Turbidimeter, Jaw crusher, cone crusher, ball mills, pressure filters, vacuum filters, and pulverizers to include sorting, crushing, grinding, filtering, pulverizing, splitting, and screening ore samples to run flotation and collector trials.
- Ability to write technical laboratory reports and present findings to customers in a clear manner.
