**Position Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Accurately process bi-weekly with weeks alternating between corporations for hourly, salaried, and casual employees.
- Process and validate payroll expenses, deductions, garnishments and adjustments through the ADP system.
- Record payroll entries in SAGE ERP 300.
- Produce annual T4, WCB Reports and other external party reports as required.
- Reconcile all applicable accounts.
- Work with Human Resources in processing new hires, rehires, transfers, terminations, and administration of employee benefits.
- Ensure proper internal controls, system standards, policies, financial controls and audit requirements are met, monitored and maintained.
- Participate with the annual audit.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements for payroll and benefits.
- Maintain benefits for individual employees and their files.
- Other duties related to the position as assigned.

**Education and Experience**:

- 1+ years’ experience producing full cycle payroll, in a large complex organization
- National Payroll Institute Membership ideal
- Knowledge of payroll practices, methodologies and procedures required
- Experience with ADP and/or SAGE 300 ERP would be ideal
- Familiarity with First Nations culture, history is considered an asset

**Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities**:

- Knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements at the Provincial/Federal levels regarding Employers, Payroll and Benefits Administration
- Knowledge of tax laws especially as they relate to Indigenous and Non-Indigenous staff working on and off Reserve
- Ability to implement changes in processes, policies, and/or procedures for improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Analytical, decision making, and the ability to recognize challenges, identify causes and provide solutions.
- Dependability: able to work independently, submit accurate documentation, and seek guidance when needed
- Receptive: accept feedback, take ownership of responsibilities, and identifies areas of growth
- Interpersonal Skills: communicates clearly, seek solutions, and demonstrates flexibility
- Integrity: keep sensitive information confidential and adheres to STC’s policies
- Initiative: seeks opportunities for further development
