About This Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our Accounting & Finance team in Markham, Ontario. This role offers a great balance of in-office and work-from-home flexibility, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a collaborative work environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing hourly unionized payroll, working with unions to interpret and update wage schedules, burden tables, and monthly union reconciliation. Additionally, they will be responsible for accurate and timely end-to-end processing of payrolls and payments via direct deposit, including new employee setup, handling terminations with ROEs using HRDC WebROE, and responding to payroll inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Process hourly unionized payroll, including interpreting and updating wage schedules, burden tables, and monthly union reconciliation.
- Accurately and timely process end-to-end payrolls and payments via direct deposit.
- Respond to payroll inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for provincial items like WSIB/WCB, EHT.
- Prepare annual T4, RL1, and T2200 reports.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
- Completed PCP designation with NPI.
- At least 3 years of work experience in payroll.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and JD Edwards or ERP system in-house.
- Unionized construction experience an asset.
