The Service Coordinator’s Assistant provides additional operational support to the Family Services team under the direction of the Service Coordinators, ranging from in-person customer service for families graveside, to supporting the receptionist by handling guests in the office.
- Attend and guide families at graveside interments/entombments and scattering of cremated remains.
- Answer general graveside questions and/or concerns.
- Communicate with Service Coordinators regarding any matters or concerns that require their attention and follow up.
- Check and verify accuracy and presentation of daily interments.
- Greet visitors to the Cemetery Office.
- Route in-person inquiries to the appropriate staff members and take accurate messages when necessary.
- Provide visitors directions and maps of the grounds as required.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the reception area, refreshment lounge and all adjacent family rooms
- Perform any related sundry activities as assigned

**Hours/Days of Work**:

- On-Call - as required by business needs.
- Must be available for Saturdays and the occasional Sunday.
- Increased demand through spring and fall.
- Approximately six-hour shift, based on business needs from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a one year community college certificate/diploma, or equivalent combination of work experience, training and education, or higher
- A valid Ontario “G” driver’s licence, and acceptable driver’s abstract
- At least three years of front line customer service experience
- Previous experience at a funeral home and/or cemetery would be an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team player
- Solid organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure with competing priorities.
- Able to communicate with a high degree of professionalism, empathy, compassion, and tact
- Basic proficiency of Windows and MS and Outlook

**Job Type**: Casual
