Located in the City of London, Arbor Trace is looking for a General Manager, permanent full-time day (40h) position, who understands the importance of team success with a desire to succeed. **Specifically, your daily life with us will look like**:

- Be a proven leader, a coach, and ensure the best possible service for the residents.
- Plan and organize, lead and control all activities related to the operation of the home.
- Manage tasks and priorities of the staff (organization, performance management, discipline, and scheduling) in collaboration with the department heads (Care, Administration, Food Services, Activities, Housekeeping/Maintenance).
- Ensure that policies and procedures in place meet all legislative and residential needs, and modify them as required to meet changes in the legislative and market environment.
- Deliver results surpassing set budget, attaining and maintaining high occupancy, and ensuring superior customer service for both residents and their families.
- Ensure that all Hygienic, Health and Safety, Fire, and other regulatory standards are met by employees, contractors, community partners and residents.
- Act as the lead in leasing and marketing activities, and the documentation required to support these activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget, and administers and controls said budget.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with, residents, employees, union, health services organizations and providers

**Required qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in administration and over 8-10 years of experience in a leadership role having managed at least 30 employees (retirement homes or hospitality field is a plus)
- Proven communications skills, both oral and written.
- A track record of results, flexibility and adjustment to changing conditions and a sense of customer satisfaction is required.
- Familiarity with the appropriate regulatory legislation is a plus.
- A knowledge of financial statement analysis, and the development and execution of business plans.
- Experience in HR, specifically in training and supervision within a Unionized environment is a must.
- Great computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, Microsoft teams
