**The Leavens Automotive Group has an opportunity for a General Manager at our Leavens Volkswagen location.**
Under the supervision of the Dealer Principal and Group Leadership Team, this position is responsible for the successful operation of the entire dealership, including developing and executing plans to ensure the profitability of the dealership by selling vehicles, parts, service and controlling expenses while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead, manage and support department managers and employees to hold them accountable to achieving current business and productivity goals and improve profitability and efficiency
- Represent our company values in day-to-day leadership to create a positive, motivating workplace which maximizes employee engagement and supports the well
- being of employees
- Ensure our employees have a customer first attitude, making customer satisfaction a priority to create customer loyalty
- Manage dealership operations including managing expenses and motivate team to achieve monthly and annual goals for all departments within the dealership
- Meet with the Controller and managers monthly to review actual performance against forecast
**Education Essentials**:
- Completion of high school diploma or vocational equivalent
- University degree or college diploma in business administration
- Post secondary education in dealership management, business or a related area of study is preferred
**Knowledge Essentials**:
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in Dealership Management **required, **General Management experience an asset.
- Experience in both the variable and fixed operations sides of the business an asset
- Excellent knowledge of operations and business process and the ability to read and analyze financial statements
- Proficient with: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, Outlook
- Thorough knowledge of technical repairs and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturer warranty policies and proper authorizing processes
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal & written English) and customer service skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills in order to resolve customer issues
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
- Being analytical, creative, and using innovative approaches in solving problems
**Special Qualification Essentials**:
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and clean driving abstract
- OMVIC Certification is required
