- The Human Resources Department has an opening for a permanent, full-time Compensation and Human Resources Specialist. If you are an energetic, resourceful problem solver who is passionate about compensation and classification and is excited to work with and learn about a variety of municipal government departments, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for:

- Advises managers and employees on a wide range of human resources areas;
- Leads compensation services for the District, ensuring best practices are implemented and maintained;
- Provides guidance and support to HR advisors, managers and staff on compensation matters including reclassifications, reorganizations and job profiles;
- Conducts role assessments in accordance with District policy and compensation framework;
- Ensures that practices are consistent and comply with legislation, collective agreements, administrative regulations, policies and procedures;
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, managers, and external contacts including Union representatives,
- Participates in other duties and special projects as assigned.
