**Bracewell Marine Group** is one of the leading shipyards in British Columbia. We proudly repair, repower, and build marine vessels such as fishboats, tugboats, other commercial vessels, and private yachts up to 130ft and 220 tonnes. Operating in the Shelter Island Marina in Richmond, BC, we are part of the extensive BC marine industry supporting the 4thlargest port in North America; logging, fishing, and tourism companies; and a large pleasure craft market.
**We are looking for Custom Woodworkers** to join our shipyard’s diverse team of woodworkers, mechanics, machinists, welders, fabricators, and painters Our wood projects are all custom to fit the curved and asymmetrical spaces of marine vessels, and the luxury yacht interiors have particularly high quality standards. Marine-specific experience is ideal but not required; experienced woodworkers with a willingness to learn the marine industry through on-the-job training are more than welcome
**Responsibilities**
- Craft custom wood products with hand tools (block planers, jigsaws, routers, chisels, etc.) and fixed equipment (table saw, joiners, planers, etc.)
- Design, build, install, and finish a wide variety of marine woodwork projects: interiors (staterooms, galleys, salons, pilot houses, wheelhouses, etc.) and exteriors (teak planking, bulwarks, etc.)
- Repair and maintain existing woodwork
- Safety is a top priority - Everyone on our team is responsible for following safety procedures and helping continuously improve safety
- Participate in a culture of continuous improvement to increase efficiency, reduce customer downtime, and improve our work environment
**Skills and Experience**
- Required: Woodworking education and/or experience (e.g., cabinet making, furniture making, joinery, finished carpentry)
- Required: Team-player with a positive attitude and the ability to execute quality work safely and efficiently
- Asset (not required): Forklift, crane, and/or confined space certification
- Asset (not required): Knowledge of marine vessels/systems and associated trades
**Other Details**
- Full-time, permanent, available immediately
- $25-$40 per hour depending on experience and education
- Monday to Friday, 8-hour daytime shifts
