**OVERVIEW**

The **Bookkeeping Specialist** manages a wide range of bookkeeping, administrative and organizational tasks to optimize effectiveness and efficiency. The Bookkeeping elements of the role are in a shared services capacity for two organizations within RDD Group.

This role requires the handling of complex, sensitive and confidential administrative duties, independent judgment and planning to coordinate meetings for various committees, prepare documents such as letters, reports, and managing electronic filing systems.

The Bookkeeping and Administrative Specialist will have a strong understanding of working within multiple organizations in similar timeframes and maintain a high level of accuracy for each.

This position requires skill in the following areas:

- Excellent Communication: Communicating effectively is critical to the success of this position. The Bookkeeping Specialist will encourage open communication and have exceptional communication skills including verbal, written, listening and nonverbal cues.
- Organization and Time Management: The Bookkeeping Specialist must have exceptional organization and time management skills, keeping track of multiple schedules, managing project deadlines and managing complex file storage.
- Personal and Organizational Adaptation: must have strong self-awareness and be able to anticipate, assess, and readily adapt to changing priorities, and effectively work in a changing environment.
- Strong Attention to Detail: The Bookkeeping Specialist must exhibit a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accurate data entry, payroll processing, and in communication with others.

**POSITION FUNCTION**

The Bookkeeping and Administrative Specialist will be responsible for:

- Bookkeeping for the shared office of 2 legal entities;
- Office management.
- Accounts Payable and Receivables

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- High school diploma required;
- Three years of bookkeeping experience (preferred);
- Experience in Sage 50 Accounting System required;

**KEY RELATIONSHIPS & ACCOUNTABILITIES**

As a team member, the Bookkeeping Specialist will:

- Report directly to the President;
- Provide support to senior leadership, the board of directors, and staff;
- Follow established policy and procedure and contribute to new policy and procedure development;
- Act honestly, respectfully, and ethically in all relationships with other organizations, funders, government representatives and volunteers.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

This position is a full-time position, with the standard work week of 39 hours over five days.
