Business Development and Strategy Lead

We are looking for a driven, passionate, positive individual to join our Strategic Partnerships Team as a Strategy Development Lead.
The primary purpose of this high-profile role is to drive the development and launch of new pivotal initiatives and lead our existing embedded card coverage portfolio. This role is key to diversifying our portfolio with new and emerging products.

What You'll Do
- Ongoing Distribution Performance Management of our existing embedded card coverage Portfolio - Monthly financials results relative to key Metrics Loss ratio, claims indemnity, and COR.
- Support pricing on annual performance reviews and handling partners through rate indications.
- Negotiate opportunities for growth while outlining any risks to the portfolio and suggesting potential mitigants to de-risk.
- Accountable for continued growth on new product launches post-launch, establishing appropriate critical metrics for performance tracking.
- Responsible for cradle-to-grave ownership of business development opportunities within our current bancassurance partnerships, from identifying the new business potential to implementation. This would include identifying key partner relationships to champion (internally and externally), conducting market research, and preparing new business benefits.
- Work directly with our existing partner on new P&C insurance solutions designed for existing banking products.
- Develop relevant key metrics to measure the progress of critical initiative implementation.
- Generate and develop financial/strategic portfolio analysis & performance management insight for Senior Leadership Teams.
- Support the success of implementing our partnership team's 5-year strategy from developing initiatives, outlining benefits, breakthrough planning, and stakeholder management to ensure the successful growth of our business aligned with the financial plan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams ensuring partner engagement is high while resolving any challenges to ensure the successful outcome of the plan.
- Act as a key liaison for our partners, coordinating and arranging internal and external resources as necessary while maintaining positive relationships with current collaborators.
- Build and strengthen the relationship with a range of teams in Aviva, spanning multiple teams, including personal insurance underwriting, product, pricing, finance and claims.
- Build and develop new partnership relationships with a common goal of continually creating new mutually beneficial revenue opportunities.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop business plans that align with Aviva's business objectives. This would include initiating and delivering a sales action plan to support the strategic objections and exceed stated goals.
- Collaborate with internal finance business partners with forecasts for various projects and initiatives, including forecasted P&Ls and projected revenue growth.
- Manage project progress against forecasted financials and identifying key growth opportunities and some pressure points early in the implementation stage.
- Ability to outline cases and benefits for new product ideas and implement plans with the support of the VP.
What You'll Bring
- 3-5 years’ experience in business development and/or strategy development.
- Ability to navigate partners and adept at handling expectations and holding parties accountable.
- Handling Partnership outcomes and owning third-party relationships to build and initiate new opportunities to scale.
- Prior experience in small commercial, credit card insurance product offerings, or launching new P&C products or propositions.
- Portfolio management and accountability - handling third-party relationships using KPIs to drive prioritization of efforts to improve and maintain performance and growth.
- Experience with warranty, lender, and/or travel insurance products is an asset.
- Creative thinker - understands and outlines risks with an ability to handle associated controls to deliver strategic goals.
