In partnership with the portfolio managers and the PI team, the Business Insights Lead is responsible for providing high-quality, actionable insights and analytics to identify opportunities that will improve the performance of Personal Insurance and increase profit while aligning with the overall business strategy.

To complete PI's business plan commitments, this role will collaborate with partners across Aviva to review, design and develop insights and solutions to business problems within all distribution channels.

Our Bi Lead will work closely with our PI colleagues, as well as Finance, Reserving, Claims, Analytics, Distribution, and business teams to provide timely and accurate information, insights, and reporting to make better strategic decisions built on our guiding principles of "One Version of the Truth" with high quality.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborates with internal business partners to define and drive business intelligence and analytics, leading to insights to drive performance improvement.

  • Acquires a clear understanding of business needs and strategy with the ability to communicate and execute requirements

  • Sets data and reporting management design, monitoring, and governance.

  • Initiates and maintains roadmaps for data management and business intelligence strategy by keeping current with internal and external changes

  • Maintains breadth and depth of knowledge using enterprise and industry/market trends and regular benchmarking exercises

  • Develop, lead, and manage various key projects and assignments as required, including project plan development, business case development, strategic oversight, and management

  • Drive business objectives to deliver Business Insights and analytics Strategy, collaboratively working with Segment Leads, PI partners, and other teams to provide optimal Business Intelligence and analytical solutions

  • Provide Insights and reporting recommendations to meet customer and business needs.

  • Uphold data governance and control

What you'll bring

  • University degree in Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years of industrial experience in BI Analytics or Reporting

  • Proven track record in adopting and leading change, being highly adaptable and flexible, decisive and displaying excellent judgment

  • Has effectively worked within a matrix & complex environment

  • Outstanding analytical skills with an insatiable desire to probe, question, validate and challenge to ensure accurate and relevant performance indicators are being reported and measured

  • Strong business knowledge and technical skills to advise and recommend efficient, relevant, and accurate information to the business for decision-making purposes

  • Leadership skills with the ability to lead, empower, challenge, and influence cross-functional teams and deliver superior results

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Strong customer focus and partner leadership skills

  • Able to champion change with the ability and appetite to drive optimization in processes and technology

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task concurrently in a fast-paced environment
