The Office of the Dean provides leadership in academic programming and services to the campus, ensuring a positive and academically responsive environment to change. Within the broader University community, the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean represents the policies and points of view of U of T Scarborough, and makes independent judgments on University matters. Within U of T Scarborough, the Vice-Principal & Dean promotes the teaching, research, and scholarship of the faculty, the career development of the administrative staff, and the overall well-being of students.

**Your opportunity**:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Post-Doctoral Initiatives and in close consultation with the Vice-Dean, Teaching, Learning & Undergraduate Programs, Vice-Dean Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies and Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs & Curriculum, the Academic Programs Officer is responsible for managing and supporting activities related to the undergraduate and graduate curriculum cycle and academic programs. This includes the strategic planning and implementation process in areas such as program development and delivery, program closures, development of academic pathways, program quality assessment and improvement and program reviews as part of the University of Toronto Quality Assurance Process. The incumbent also oversees the production of the UTSC academic calendar and manages the program and unit review process ensuring that all internal and external requirements are adhered to.

Working closely with members of the Dean’s Office, Chairs, members of the Registrar’s Office at UTSC, and the Provost’s Office, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that these processes operate in accordance with the highest academic and procedural standards, thereby advancing UTSC’s academic aspirations and reputation.

The Academic Programs Officer will provide project management and coordination oversight and support for initiatives and funding programs that incentivize and support the embedding of equitable, inclusive and anti-racist principles in UTSC’S curricular requirements, pedagogical approaches, and supports.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Advising staff and academic leaders on program curriculum change policies and procedures
- Preparing and disseminating curriculum cycle timetables
- Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures
- Leading the development and making recommendations for policy, procedures and best practices for the unit
- Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)
- Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with senior management to gain approval for strategies and plans
- Drafting internal and external communications
- Developing and maintaining project quality control standards

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six to seven years of direct relevant experience, preferably in a higher education setting
- Must have project coordination and management experience
- Supervisory experience required
- Demonstrated excellent complex writing and communication skills

**Assets (Nonessential)**:

- Experience related to quality assurance, program development, policy development and/or curriculum and program evaluation experience at the post-secondary level
- Demonstrated capacity to implement quality assurance/continuous quality improvement processes
- Experience with equity-based, anti-racist, anti-colonial, and accessible curriculum development
