Description:
214 is a startup design/build construction company currently engaged in base building in industrial and commercial space with special projects including residential and rural development opportunities. Our short-term goals are to build internal capabilities within site works and excavation to complement our current project management, site supervision, and general construction capabilities A key member within Site Services team, our experienced Lead Hand, Site Services exercises due care in carrying out construction site works using various heavy equipment and in compliance with generally accepted operating safety practices and procedures. You bring experience, judgment, and safety-conscious, positive attitude to the job, daily, and work well with your colleagues in bringing construction site development plans to reality. With a current build schedule taking us out to 2032, we continue to build our experienced team in building a brand in support of profitable growth across our businesses.

In conjunction with the Supervisor, Site Services you will support team lead / development and division builder while instrumental in the establishment and implementation of this new division within the 214 group of companies. You can be asked to team build, purchase equipment, design, estimate, project schedule, site supervise, and work within the jobs themselves.

Some of the duties/attributes that are essential to this position would include but not be limited to the following:

- Field supervision ready - includes labor and equipment deployment, material logistics, project scheduling, report/record-keeping per activity and /employee, track consumables et al,
- Estimate from drawing’s, trouble shoot, critique and suggested changes of site services drawings as necessary,
- Use of sewer license as necessary on 214 sites, and in counties where licensing is required as it applies to 214 activities. Competent, efficient, and timely installation of water, sanitary, storm, and septic services as necessary,
- Competent and efficient cut, fill, and balance of site. Capable and willing to run all equipment. Implementation of G.P.S. grade control on all relevant equipment,
- Support within other division as necessary - Hardscape division, general construction, snow clearing operations, and maintenance would be good examples of flexibility expected

Construction Site Preparation

The experienced Lead Hand works in collaboration with the Supervisor, Site Services, assisting in planning of site work schedules and ensure all construction including heavy equipment cost controls have been identified and continuously monitored throughout a project’s execution.

General

a. Execution of all siteworks including hardscape projects and maintenance activities for equipment requirements and assist with material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within project timelines;
Specific

b. Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project;
c. Participate in coordinating and scheduling the day-to-day work activities of site servicing crew;
d. Advising the Supervisor, Site Services with requisite repairs, replacements and upgrades;
e. Ensure company equipment, material and work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner consistent service management standards to be established;
f. Assist in controlling and monitoring material and equipment expenses throughout construction/landscape builds in collaboration with Supervisor;
g. Review any project plans and specifications and comment on a project’s design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential landscape construction problems;
h. Able to read and interpret blueprints, and specifications to complete work activities including programming GPS systems;
Maintenance

i. Grease and lubricate moving parts and joints on equipment;
j. Maintain and enforce standards to be established of cleanliness and organization to assigned vehicles, trailers, and light/heavy equipment while in shop and yard locations;

**Qualifications**:
To be considered for this position you will possess the following skills, attributes and abilities:

- Minimum 1 year of 3D grading experience (e.g. Trimble) in site works and construction
- History of operating required machinery and equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with Class AZ (with clean abstract) desirable
- Well organized, independent, and self-managing, with strong English written and oral communication skills
- Quality focussed, high attention to detail and flexible in working beyond boundaries
- Self-directed and task-oriented (with little supervision)
