**Hourly Wage**

ISS offers a competitive compensation package including Benefits, Paid Time Off, and a starting hourly salary of
**16.50 CAD, + 2.00 shift premium added for weekend positions.**

**Key Purpose**

The Waste Removal position is responsible for all associated waste removal duties on campus including collecting waste, managing waste containers and monitoring the waste management system. This position will require completion of duties all year round in any weather condition safe to conduct business. Duties will be dependent on operational needs as outlined by ISS’ clients and contracts.

- High school diploma/GED or an equivalent number of years of education and waste management experience.
- Waste management experience a plus
- Experience with OnePlus software is a plus
- May require operation of a forklift

**Key Accountabilities**
- All collected waste expected to be contained and or cleaned up during separation, collection, transportation, either on or off site
- All waste materials to be delivered to appropriate and client approved waste facilities
- Call backs (requests for out of scope collections) are expected to be communicated to client service contact within 24 hours
- Any given collection site is to be checked mínimally twice on the scheduled service day within reasonable timeframe for availability before skipping that collection. Unavailable sites to be reported to client service contact after first attempt to collect
- Occasional retrieval of misplaced waste items in various collection bins is expected
- Assure empty containers are in place at start of press operation and available throughout scheduled cycle. Assure tailgates are chained and latched
- Interface w/press operators to assess variable frequency of container switching. Pick-up filled containers and replace with empty
- Obtain client approved and signed shipping papers from client and transport filled containers of sludge to landfill and dispose at correct location(s)
- Assure empty containers are in place at start of harvest and available throughout harvest schedule
- Interface w/press operators to assess variable frequency of container switching
- Monitor and determine when to switch filled containers. Communicate w/press operators when containers are to be switched to divert (diversion completed by client)
- During winter Store filled containers inside
- Obtain client approved and signed shipping papers from client Waste Management office and transport filled containers of sludge to landfill and dispose at the location(s) in
- Monitor One-Plus system to determine compactor fullness and pull only when full or as per anticipated fill cycle. Follow Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures when pulling container
- Separate container and clean up any spilled trash during separation and transportation and move container to yard. Install empty container, remove LOTO device, and check for proper operation of compactor, tipper, and One Plus system. Follow all required operational and safety procedures when pulling any compactor
- Provide demand compactor evaluations during service disruptions on compactor, tipper, and One Plus system. Coordinate repairs
- Provide container deodorizing control measures as determined by supplier or requested.
- Quarantine compactors as directed and assist with dumping, searching, and reloading when necessary to recover lost or improperly disposed material(s)
- Provide LOTO and container separation as needed to restore service when bridging occurs.
- Provide landfill transportation and disposal
- Place open-top containers as directed. Interface with site engineers to agree on service level during different phases of project
- Place signage on containers to designate intended use
- Relocate/exchange containers as requested to accommodate various construction site operations
