**About us**: Accelerating Community Energy Transformation (ACET) is a multi-partner research initiative led by the University of Victoria, with a purpose to deliver world-leading research, enabling equitable, community-led energy transitions that can be scaled globally to reduce emissions and enhance community well-being.
From harnessing offshore wind, tidal, and solar energy to developing innovative low-carbon financing and governance models, we are dedicated to making a tangible impact on our environment and society. ACET involves integral collaboration with more than 40 partners, including five partner universities (University of Victoria, University of British Columbia, Royal Roads University, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and Yukon University), Indigenous communities, and 30+ industry innovators and community-based organizations. Funded through the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF), ACET is founded on the principles of community-engaged research and the values of equity, diversity and inclusion to ensure its work is relevant and beneficial to the diverse Canadian population.

**The salary range for this position is**:
- **Recruitment range: $75,755- $83,525** starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.
- **Performance range: starting salary to max of $98,528** is available through annual performance increases.
- Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Operations in ACET, the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Training Officer (EDITO) is the EDI specialist to ensure that ACET activities are guided by equity, diversity and inclusion principles and in alignment with ACET’s EDI Action Plan, UVic’s Equity Action Plan and partner universities’ EDI frameworks, as well as the CFREF’s EDI expectations and specific requirements.
The position’s major project will be the implementation of ACET’s EDI action plan tailored to the requirements of the CFREF funding agency. The officer will work closely with ACET’s EDI special advisors including the EDI Research Officer from the Vice President Research & Innovation (VPRI) and the Office of Equity and Human Rights (EQHR) as well as key collaborators from the 4 partner universities and other CFREF funded initiatives, to carry out the proposed actions to address systemic barriers and to make positive impacts to the Canadian population including historically and systemically marginalized groups. The officer will interact through regular meetings and discussions with other CFREF-awarded institutions to build a community of practice on EDI implementation and action plans.
