This position will be part of our Printing Sector. As the largest printer in Canada & one of the largest in North-America, you will join a team that is committed to helping everyone excel and reach their goals. The Print division has over 3,700 employees & 13 state-of-the-art print plants.

**About this opportunity**
This position will report directly to the Manager, Scheduling and Planning and will serve as liaison for scheduling all production activities within Direct Mail with the exclusion of Print on Demand.

**What you will do**
- Responsible for maintaining scheduling tools, estimating project production times and sequencing all project activities;
- Prepares laser, letter-shop and specialty finishing schedules as required;
- Updates schedules to reflect cancellations, rescheduling, addition, or modification of job dockets;
- Forecasts the impacts on the schedule of proposed changes;
- Schedules and confirms equipment usage for operations staff, sales staff and Digital Services Management;
- Assists CSR’s with preparation of production schedules; updates schedules to reflect cancellations, reschedules, additions, and/or modifications of job dockets;
- Analyzes validity of schedules submitted by outside parties;
- Coordinates maintenance and repair of equipment for operations managers taking into account the availability of service staff and other scheduled work;
- Leads daily production meeting for both operations staff and CSR’s;
- Maintains Scheduling tool for easy visual reference of plant loading;
- When required coordinates the use of outside suppliers with CSR to maintain schedule;
- Develops or assists with the development and implementation of procedures allowing for the efficient scheduling of resources on the production floor;
- Work as part of a team, follow and adhere to Transcontinental’s code of ethics and participate in the Continuous Improvements efforts;
- Fully understand and adhere to all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Quality, Security and Company policies and procedures;
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario, the Workplace Safety Insurance Act and all other applicable legislated environmental, health & safety regulations;
- Perform all other duties as requested by Management in order to help the team effort.

**What you have to offer**
- Must have a minimum five (5) years experience in scheduling and production;
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as estimates, project outlines and production schedules;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse work environment.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations;
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and well-organized. Ability to assess needs and establish priorities quickly;
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, and developing and implementing new work-flows and procedures;
- Knowledge of workflow, and operating procedures;
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment;
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control;
- Ability to schedule equipment and personnel usage;
- Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques and systems.
