**Duties**:
Serves as full-time economic and political specialist the U.S. Consulate General Vancouver. Acts as advisor on political, economic, energy, Environment, Science, Technology and Health (ESTH) and border issues to the Consul General (CG), and to the Pol/Econ Officers and senior USG officials visiting the district including the Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM). Focuses on research, analysis, reporting, advocacy, public outreach, contact development, event and visit management. Advises U.S. Government (USG) officials on whom they should meet, their interlocutors views and importance and the best means of presenting USG positions. Reports directly to the POL/ECON Chief, works closely with the POL/ECON Officer, and provides day to day supervision of Pol/Econ interns, as needed. Works closely and collaboratively with the full-time political and economic assistant, backing each other up as needed. Also supports and advises other sections of the Consulate General and officials of other agencies at post.
