- Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Operations, the Facilities Operations Liaison (FOL) is the first point of contact for assigned site facilities matters on the Comox Valley and St. Joseph campus, while providing support as needed for college-wide facilities matters. The position triages facility specific campus-based matters with the involvement of the Manager, Facilities Operations and the Facilities Operations Officer (FOO).
The position is responsible for supporting the coordination and delivery of operational and facilities related services including general building and site maintenance, janitorial requirements, emergency matters, first aid and security services, liaising with NIC partnership rentals and supporting general facilities requests from the community at the Comox Valley and St. Joseph campus locations. The position receives guidance and work direction from the Facilities Operations Officer (FOO) and the Manager, Facilities Operations in achieving this support. In addition, the FOL provides general administrative support to the Manager, Facilities Operations, who has responsibility for facilities related matters across NIC campuses.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Provides general administrative support to the Manager, Facilities Operations, including responding to routine issues and inquiries on operational and facilities related matters within established policies, procedures, and practices, referring more difficult or unusual issues to the Manager, Facilities Operations or the FOO. Position may also purchase operational building supplies as requested and assist with timesheets and visa reconciliations.
- Supports the Manager, Facilities Operations in the coordination and function of campus-based meetings and related campus activities, including analyzing information and generating reports.
- First point of contact for assigned facilities related matters onsite at the CV campus and St. Joseph campus locations responding to requests and referring where appropriate. This includes all alarm related emergencies during regular hours, which includes fires, panic button response, gas leaks, chemical spills, bomb threats, lockdown, accidents, acts of violence, theft, requests for security, and other emergency situations. Responsible to follow designated procedures, collect information, and immediately report to the Manager, FOO and or designated administrator.
- Supports the Manager, Facilities Operations in the delivery of Occupational Health and Safety programs and services. Directly responsible to coordinate all first aid coverage, including being required to provide Occupational First Aid level 2 (OFA level 2) coverage, filling in for first aid coverage gaps, posting for and onboarding new first aid attendants, coordinating the schedule of first aid attendants to maintain effective coverage as per WCB regulations, generating and submitting reports as per WCB, NIC and Risk Management Branch requirements, participates in accident and incident investigations, monitoring and ordering of first aid supplies as required, tracks site AED status, maintains campus panic pendants (including testing, replacing batteries and maintaining inventory spreadsheet) and acts as the recording secretary for CV Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Responsible to review, coordinate and schedule all regular contracted security services, including monitoring security performance and resolving any minor deficiencies, referring more difficult problems or issues to the FOO. Maintains daily log and reporting requirements, ensures special events or building/site conditions are addressed, and reconciling of invoices against services rendered. Responsible to generate room/site booking reports and schedule security to cover all requirements. Schedules security for special events/conditions and other requests as needed.
