At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. Sinai Health is looking for an experienced and dedicated **Security Operations Supervisor** who is aligned to our purpose to support our Building Services Department at our Mount Sinai Hospital and Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital Campus.

The Security Operations Supervisor actively engages / participates in the security service delivery of all services supporting staff and clinical safety at Mount Sinai Hospital and Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital Campuses. They are responsible for setting and implementing clear departmental strategy and work plan(s) to guide the delivery of security services in accordance with Sinai’s core values of Discovery, Service, Inclusivity, and Humanity; supporting security staff in the performance of their duties to the standard set forth in organizational / department policies, procedures, and contract. The Security Operations Supervisor will be working collaboratively with all Sinai Health internal/external stakeholders, department/clinical leadership, and vendors in support of both short and long term goals. They will participate in a variety of organizational committees and investigate service inefficiencies and implement improvements under the direction of Security leadership.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate in unit-level Patient Care Plan development, lead “Hot Debriefs” with unit-level staff and contract staff when available; Maintain Patient Flag / Person of Interest (POI) database and ensure appropriate training is kept current with security staff.
- Monitor allocation of security resource when providing patient watch / constant observation services in the Emergency Department and on in-patient units. Collaborate with unit leadership in creation of care plans and auditing the adherence to service standard(s) accordingly - escalating to Sinai Health and vendor leadership as necessary.
- Lead / conduct in-depth investigations on major occurrences, audits of security services within the Hospital and surrounding facilities, alleged losses and thefts and wrongful acts of individuals affecting the Hospital, and the enforcement of applicable Municipal, Provincial and Federal bylaws and legislation as directed.
- Liaise with external agencies as required in support of staff / patient safety and Human Resources staff and stakeholder leadership to support a variety of requests
- Maintain, monitor, audit, and correct as necessary the Patient’s Valuable(s) storage process, the Sinai Health Lost & Found Item process, the Duress Button Assignment Process, and the process of handling, transporting, and releasing Deceased Human Remain(s).
- Ensuring appropriate documentation, storage, and handling standards are adhered to; participating in fact-finding and investigations as necessary. Ensuring appropriate orientation and training of contracted staff occurs - organizing re-training when needed.
- Work collaboratively with health disciplines (ie. social work) as necessary to support investigations identifying next of kin for unidentified remains
- Lead / Participate in and provide ongoing support of all organizational programs to minimize staff risk of workplace violence.
- Maintain appropriate staff, contractor, and vendor database(s) systems in facilitation of services collaboratively with key stakeholders granting authorization.
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to define / generate necessary reporting on access / security system data to meet the requirements of applicable legislation, governing institutions, accreditation evaluations, etc.
- Lead meeting(s), review(s), or investigations with stakeholders in response to work orders / requests for additional security related hardware (ie. Door locks, card readers, duress alarms, etc.).
- Maintain physical / electronic key management system(s), ensuring appropriate audits and escalations are undertaken by security staff. Issuing communication on process changes, use restrictions, and additions as necessary.
- Oversee stock and metrics on usage of the 40 Murray Bike Cage Key Process / cash exchange. Generating appropriate documentation and addressing issues or complaints as needed.
- Oversee appropriate system maintenance and distribution of Sinai Health radio communication equipment to contracted guard
