Cash and ACE Casinos is an ownership group that is undertaking a transformation and modernization of its casino businesses located in the Calgary and Red Deer market.

We are an Alberta-based, family-owned business looking to grow our casino’s team. Our current locations include Ace Casino Airport, Cash Casino Blackfoot, and Cash Casino Red Deer.

**The Position**

The HR Coordinator will work closely with the HR Manager to support and manage the employee life cycle for a team of approximately 500 employees.

The HR Coordinator will be based in Calgary but will be required to travel to Red Deer as needed to effectively assist in managing Human Resources functions at the Red Deer location.

There will be some evening requirements necessary to support the evening shift employees and managers with training and onboarding.

**About the role**:
The HR Coordinator will support a variety of HR duties and administrative tasks, including but not limited to talent acquisition, benefits, and RRSP administration, leave administration, performance management, new hire orientation and special projects.

**HR Administration**:

- Responds to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provides assistance as necessary.
- Responds to HR related calls and/or distributes correspondence to the appropriate person of the team.
- Maintains records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc.) through the HRIS, Payworks, and ensures all employment requirements are met.
- Liaises with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, etc.)
- Assists in performance management procedures as required.
- Schedules meetings, interviews, HR events etc. and maintains the team’s agenda.
- Coordinates and assists with training sessions and seminars.
- Produces and submits reports on general HR activity as requested.
- Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like collection of employee feedback. May assist with employee surveys.
- Maintain SharePoint Server organization and data storage - files, server, policies.
- Acts as employee advocate through effective employee relations.
- Supports other functions as assigned.

R**ecruitment - Advertising, posting, active recruiting and job fair coordination**:
Partners with hiring managers:

- Creating and posting job ads and posting on Applicant Tracking
- Performs reference checks and determines suitability.
- Involved in interviews as needed.

**Active recruiting**:
**Job fair coordination**:

- Organizes and coordinates job fairs at the Casino and at third party locations.

**Hiring**:

- Prepares offer letters for manager review based on appropriate templates.
- Collects required hiring documents (AGLC certificates/PIC/etc.)
- Sends New hire packages to employees and ensures they are fully completed (tax forms, OT Agreement, NDA, etc.)
- Follows up on missing or incomplete New Hire Package information within the first days of employee commencement.
- Ensure all HR files are complete and updated in HR module using Payworks.

**Onboarding**:

- Performs orientations, onboarding and updates records with new hires.
- Provides necessary policy sign off - Employee handbook, procurement policy, etc.
- Updates New Hire packages, as needed (current year tax forms, etc.).

**Offboarding**:

- Generates and files termination paperwork.
- Ensures termination checklist has been completed.

**Benefit administration**:

- Group benefit administration of health and dental, Life and AD&D plans: entitlement, enrollment, termination from plan.
- Administration of RRSP Program through LINK: entitlement, enrollment, and termination of plan.

**Payroll**:

- Works closely and communicates regularly with Payroll regarding employment changes, new hires, departures, etc.

**Proficiencies and experience**:

- Strong communication skills - regular communication with Managers and Supervisors of operating entities.
- Teamwork - work together to obtain approval of invoices and ensure correct coding to company and department/object.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to have a keen eye for detail, ability to analyze information and maintain organization.
- Able to focus and thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Preferred minimum of 3+ years’ experience as an HR Coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position.
- Experience with Human Resource Management Systems is as asset (ADP, Payworks, Ceridian, etc).
- Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel while maintaining effective working relationships.
- Ability to multi-task, have strong organizational skills, and be able to prioritize and take initiative.
- Positive attitude to contribute to our collaborative, team-based office environment.
- Strong ability in using MS Office
