Job Description

In collaboration with the Human Resources team, the Human Resources Advisor offers support to managers and employees in multiple human resources management activities. We are looking for someone who is passionate about all aspects of HR

Responsibilities
  1. Implement and administer employee policies;
  2. Provide high quality advice and services to management on day-to-day employee relations and performance management issues;
  3. Support the human resources department in the implementation of programs to enhance the employee experience;
  4. Manage workplace accident files and conduct investigations;
  5. Play an advisor role to managers in all areas of human resources;
  6. Coordinate recruitment and staffing mandates:
    1. Search for active and passive candidates via social media, post positions and interview candidates;
    2. Maintain ongoing relationships with employment agencies to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates;
  7. Identify ways to improve policies and procedures;
  8. Prepare termination and disciplinary letters;
  9. Train and provide support to members of the Human Resources team;
  10. Perform administrative tasks, including planning, file maintenance and mail sorting for the Human Resources department;
  11. Enter employment data into the computer database;
  12. Monitor and update employees' leaves;
  13. Coordinate logistics for new hire orientations and employee training sessions;
  14. Compile statistics and participate in trend analysis to make recommendations for continuous improvement;
  15. Participate in/organize corporate events and trade shows to promote the company and its benefits;
  16. Participate in meetings between Human Resources and Operations with the mandate to create an environment that makes us an employer of choice;
  17. Follow-up with termination reports to analyze the reasons for the drivers' departure and make recommendations.
Health and Safety

Responsible for the general health and safety program.

  • Organize and conduct health and safety committee meetings;
  • Ensure that inspections and incident reviews focus on claims prevention, particularly in areas where we have had injuries or incidents of concern;
  • Raise areas of concern.
Skills and Abilities
  • BAC in Human Resources or Industrial Relations completed.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of hiring processes.
  • Understanding of human resources best practices and current regulations.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Client-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Familiarity with the MS Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Objectivity.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Initiative.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Must be able to work out of Airdrie, AB.
