Youth Outreach Assistant- Ottawa International

Work Schedule: Full Time - 4 business days (32 hours per week) Work Location: Virtual from home currently
**Summary**: The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is one of the leading events of its kind in the world. As the OIAF Youth Outreach Assistant you will assist the Industry Director with the planning and logístical needs of youth outreach programming at Animation Celebration, Toon Apprentice Day for Teens and InGenius Jr Family day. You will be responsible for assisting with logistics, assisting with research and marketing and you will help with other tasks as needed. Currently this position would require working at home with constant connection to your supervisor and coworkers.
**Responsibilities**:
- Working on outreach to schools and families.
- Handling communications between presenters and festival.
- Coordinating technical, logístical and promotional requirements and information for all presentations and workshops.
- Assisting with virtual platform logistics and preparations, and collaborating with different departments (e.g. Sponsorship and Film Operations).
- Assisting with social media engagement and promotion.
- Assist with database maintenance.
- Assist with problem-solving and monitoring during events.
- Work with other staff and take on other appropriate projects.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of French is helpful.
- Professional demeanour is essential; superior organizational skills are required.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Ability to work under extreme pressure, positive stress management skills essential.
- Adobe Suite knowledge is a plus.
**Additional Qualifications Required**:
Eligible to participate in Ontario’s Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:
1. You are a resident, living in Ontario.
2. You are not a full time student (part time students are eligible)
3. You are not leaving employment to participate (working less than an average of 20 hrs/week is considered unemployed
4. You also must meet, and provide documentation for, at least one of the following criteria:
a) Previously established an Employment Insurance benefit claim (regular benefits within the last three years or maternity/parental within the last five years), OR
b) Previously employed in Canada in any five of the last ten calendar years and earned income in excess of $2000 in each year,
**Remuneration**:
$19.375 ave. per hour for 32 hours per week - $620 (gross per week) provided by the Province of Ontario.

**Salary**: $19.37 per hour
