Telecon is looking for an energetic, career-oriented individual to join our growing Project Control Office as a Cost Analyst.

This full-time hybrid position allows for remote work as well as from one of our offices located in both the Vaughan or Whitby area.

In this exciting position, you will be responsible for providing financial and accounting support, including but not limited to, month-end activities, revenue and cost management, implementing internal controls, as well as leading planning and forecasting activities throughout the year. The Cost Analyst will work in partnership with the company's various project teams to help achieve operational optimization solutions.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support Project Managers is the development of their project estimates and budgets.
- Ensure project cost and revenue accounts are accurate, timely and complete.
- Performance Assessment: analyze, interpret trends and issues and make recommendations for improvements and/or mitigating actions.
- Project performance reporting - regular monitoring of cost and KPI performance against expected baselines, highlighting causes and drivers of variances.
- Monthly forecasting of results based on analyzed trends and issues.
- Prepare periodic forecasts, by analyzing trends and issues, as well as identifying and assessing project risks and/uncertainties.
- Support project change control process by assessing impact of change on project budgets, margins and deliverables.
- Maintain project accounting module in D365.
- Developing and maintaining reports, both periodically and ad-hoc, for various projects and distribution to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Tracking actual costs vs estimates to identify risks and hidden cost drivers.
- Identify cost overruns and the need to re-forecast.
- Ensure the reasonability and completeness of costs charged to projects, including accruals.
- Ensure the reasonability and completeness of project Work-in-progress (WIP) calculations.
- Monitor changes in process or methods to calculate effects on overall costs.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reports, including breakdowns of project costs, forecasts of remaining expenses, and opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Liaise with various departments to ensure accuracy of information and reporting.
- Review project invoices to ensure accuracy while ensuring that billings are sent out in a timely manner.
- Ensure that projects are closed within a specified timeframe once all work is completed, all POs are closed, and all billings have been finalized.
- Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Undergraduate degree specializing in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated job costing experience in a unionized construction contractor environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project cost management.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially Excel; coped with strong Data Verification.
- Uncompromising professional ethics and integrity.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact positively with all levels inside and outside the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
