**Summary**

**Job Title: Financial Analyst, Inventory**
**Reports To: Finance Manager**

The Financial Analyst, Inventory will support the timely and accurate preparation of the internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements. The role will specifically oversee majority of the company’s assets, with a predominant focus over inventory management. The Financial Analyst, Inventory will have strong knowledge of IFRS and will be experienced with the financial statement close process, preparing working papers and supporting the annual audit process.

***Description of Job Responsibilities**:

- Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations and supporting working papers for areas responsible.
- Manage roll forward and continuity schedules.
- Assist with the recording of provisions impacting your areas of responsibility.
- Business Partner throughout the organization to provide insights and to ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Support the timely preparation and submission of the financial statements for both internal and external reporting.
- Daily, Weekly, and Monthly monitoring and resolution of exceptions between all systems. Specifically, applicable to Inventory management.
- Support A/P in the monthly reconciliation of Goods Received Not Invoiced and Unmatched Invoices listings as it applies to Inventory management.
- Alongside the Finance Manager, coordinate and execute the physical inventory count process. Reconcile counts with teams, review proposed adjustments from Regional Managers and obtain approval, post and check adjustments. Summarize results for Regional Managers and the business.
- Record inventory cost adjustments.
- Monitor (compliance) and support Supply Chain and Retail Operations pertaining to Store and DC Inventory Control business processes, specifically around receiving of (PO and Transfer) inventory, Returns inventory to Vendors, inventory destruction process, and inventory (quantity and cost) adjustments.
- Perform testing of inventory related reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare inventory related reports to assist management in making informed business decisions.
- Support continuous process improvement to the existing accounting processes and procedures to eliminate non-value-added activities, reduce processing time and eliminate manual intervention. The Financial Analyst, Inventory is encouraged to assess processes within the organization that relate to their area and propose process improvements.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules as required during annual audit and working with the external auditors to complete their requirements.
- Support the monthly forecast and annual budget process for areas responsible.
- Perform timely variance analysis of actual to plan, prior year and forecast for areas responsible.
- Prepare ad hoc management reports and analysis, as required.
- Prepare Key Performance Indicators for your area and share as applicable with those within the organization.

**Essential Requirements and Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education required. Bachelor’s Degree in business, math, or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years’ retail or relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and business process skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including English at business level.
