Position Summary
Research Coordinator, Clinical Genetics
Your goal in this position is to plan and coordinate all dimensions of the research studies in collaboration with the Genetics team members. You will observe and understand hospital and departmental policies and procedures; maintain patient confidentiality; maintain skills and registration with appropriate governing body (if applicable). You will identify problems, reports them to senior team members, and assist in developing plans to resolve them. You have the ability to adhere to the research protocol. You have excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skills. You have superior organizational, interpersonal and communication stills. You also have good personal and program time/detail management skills and you are able to work independently and as part of a team. This position supports the Hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients and families.
On a practical level, you will

Execute study-related administrative tasks such as collection of regulatory documents, data entry, ethics submissions, serious adverse event submissions, etc.

Preform statistical analysis and support data requests from senior team members and other stakeholders

Conduct chart reviews

Assesses study-related literature

Participates in database maintenance including data entry, coding and verification, record linkage and matching

Collects background information pertinent to research protocols, and collaborates with other research team members to prepare papers for presentation and/or publication

**Qualifications**:
Baccalaureate degree in a heath related discipline required

A minimum of two years of research experience in a clinical research setting

Master’s degree in a health related discipline preferred

Clinical Research coordinator training/certification preferred

Familiarity with research ethics regulations and guidelines

Proficiency and knowledge of the regulatory environment in Clinical research, including FDA. Code of Federal Regulation, Privacy legislation, Health Canada Clinical Trial Applications, Health Canada inspections, Tri-Council Policy.

Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, databases
