**Position Description**:
We are currently recruiting a **Patient Information Coordinator** to join our team in **Pre-Anesthesia Clinic.** The clinic plays an active role in the department of Peri-Operative Services. In this position, you will work closely with the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic staff to ensure patients and families are scheduled appropriately for their clinic appointment. You will support the work of POCU, by ensuring that patient information is readily available for staff on the day of the procedure. The position supports the operation of the team/department by providing clerical and administrative functions in a proactive, organized manner. You will provide service in a patient-focused manner and facilitate the delivery of patient care by providing a high level of support and assistance to the patients, families and staff.

**Here¿s What You¿ll Get To Do**
- Provide support for staff, patients and families for virtual appointments
- Greet and register patients and families in the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic for in-person appointments
- Coordinate unit administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the clinic, within scope of authority
- Provide clerical support to Pre-Anesthesia clinic staff
- Monitor and action scheduling and contacting families using the pre-anesthesia dashboard and MyChart to facilitate completion of the pre-anesthesia clinic questionnaire
- Organize, re-schedule, and maintain Pre-Anesthesia RN call appointments
- Act as liaison for Pre-Anesthesia Clinic and Surgical Clinic staff
- Maintain appointment schedules on the computer system and notify patients, families and nurses of any updates to appointments
- Collaborating with the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic team members, surgical administrators, and Pre-Op team members to ensure patient preparedness on day of procedure
- Work closely with Pre-Anesthesia Clinic manager and clinical coordinator to determine Pre-Anesthesia Clinic RN schedules
- Providing coverage for Patient Flow Coordinator in Pre-Anesthesia Clinic
- Support with project work as requested by the leadership team

**Here¿s What You¿ll Need**
- Bachelor¿s Degree in a related field (Medical Administration, Business Administration, Health Administration) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years clerical or administrative experience in a health care setting. Experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology considered an asset.
- Experience with electronic patient health records and registration systems is required (Epic).
- Strong computer skills are required including demonstrated experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with both fellow colleagues and patients.
- Excellent problem-solving skills that demonstrate an ability to anticipate potential issues and make suggestions.
- Ability to be self-directed, flexible and to take initiative.
- Attention to detail and efficient time management.
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion

**Employment Type**: Permanent 1.0FTE

**Hours of Work**: Monday-Friday, daytime hours
