**POSITION**

The Business Intelligence (BI) Systems Business Analyst provides analysis, assessment and business requirement documentation support to the Business Intelligence Reporting Tool (BIRT) project at the Alliance for Healthier Communities (Alliance) and towards the implementation of the Information Management Strategy (IMS) across the Province. More specifically, this role will support the documentation related to the Business Intelligence and support for operation of the Pan-Sector Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Business Analysis**
- Conducts analysis of business processes and documents findings to support the IMS strategy and its various work streams.
- Works with business and technical specifications to understand and address system structures and the downstream reporting needs.
- Conducts and verifies the Source to Target Data Mapping (STDM) and conduct source system data analysis.
- Documents all variances between various technical documents such as the STDM.
- Develops prototypes to facilitate the gathering of end user reporting requirements.
- Uses RAD, JAD and user interviews determine business requirements for data, reports, analyses, meta data, training, service levels, data quality and performance.
- Develops the Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Report Specifications Document.
- Conducts systems analysis and author the System Requirements Specifications (SRS).
- Works with architects to translate requirements into technical specs. May also be required to design logical and physical models for the data warehouse and data marts.
- Develops the data mapping document and support the ETL team in developing the code to meet the business requirements.
- Helps maintain and expand data standards for BI tools throughout the organization.
- Coordinates the development and use of business metadata.
- Analyzes current and future BI reporting functions and needs and plan for potential shortfalls, needs and enhancements.
- Plans, facilitates and conducts user training and support.
- Provides training and knowledge transfer of the project to the technical support team.
- Plans, documents and executes SIT and UAT testing.
- Defines and evaluates different BI solutions to support strategic business initiatives.
- Participates in the development of new systems and modifies existing systems.
- Develops detailed implementation plans for project roll-outs and manage the implementation process.
- Facilitates process improvements across the business and within your team.
- Works through and with vendors to resolve issues with BI reporting.

**Project Liaison**
- Acts as a liaison between the business and the Business Intelligence technical team.
- Participates on committees and working groups to define business needs, responds to inquiries and facilitates the identification and resolution of issues, identifies areas where IT can help.
- Provides business expertise in support of strategic and business planning activities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- An undergraduate degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst within an IT/ IM environment, preferably in healthcare.
- 2 to 3 years’ experience with business intelligence tools.
- Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office for word processing, reports and presentations preparations.
- Commitment to the principles of Health Equity, as outlined in the _Alliance’s Health Equity Charter_.

**WORK LOCATION**

This position will have the flexibility of working from home and when on-site, it will be at the Alliance office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

**COMPENSATION**

Annual Salary**: $**76,931

The Alliance offers an exceptional benefits package, including pension with HOOPP, extended health and dental benefits, and a generous vacation package. Salary is set within Alliance’s established salary grid and policy guidelines.
