**Markets** leadership team, the Manager, Business Unit will manage the operations of the business unit including business development, sales of the services offered and delivery of the projects.

**Responsibilities**:
**What your day may look like**:

- Development and implementation of the business unit plan
- Achieving operational performance objectives including growth of the business
- Risk management (Technical, Financial and Health and Safety) of pursuits and projects
- Assignment and performance management of Project Managers delivering projects
- Management and development of sales and account leaders
- New client acquisition

The nature of the role is dynamic and the scope of responsibilities may change from time to time to support evolving business needs. This role reports to the
**Director of Business Unit Operations.**

**Business Unit Management (60%)**
- Management of the operations of your business unit which includes:

- contributing to growth targets
- delivery of an exceptional client experience
- effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts including:

- cost efficiency
- sales timelines
- win rate
- success in taking a market approach
- Taking a market approach to the sales of offered services
- Delivery of projects
- Delivering on annual revenue and profitability in accordance with annual plans
- Risk management of our annual revenue delivery, client segments, service diversity, profit profile, and sales forecasts
- Creation of an inclusive and diverse working environment
- Ongoing and demonstrable innovation within your business unit
- Maintenance of an individual presence and brand aligned with our strategy and leadership profile including demonstration of your personal development
- Development and performance of the business development and account managers functioning in your business unit
- Working collaboratively with the other Business Units

**Business development (35%)**
- Meeting with existing and potential clients
- Holding business development and sales managers accountable for achieving their annual objectives.
- Integration of market insights into annual plans and strategic plans
- AMaintain strong understanding of the marketplace and opportunities
- Oversight and support of “go” and “no-go” decisions being made by Account Managers
- Ensure strong pipeline of opportunities and backlog.

**Learning & Development (5%)**
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
- Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications:
**What you will need to succeed**
- Minimum 15 years of related professional experience ideally with at least 5 years at a manager level

**Experience**:

- Experience working in professional services consulting preferred, applicants from other industries will be considered
- Exceptional business acumen and client focused experience
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven experience developing a team of engineering professionals
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to drive results and effectively manage a variety of projects
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
