**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- The Project Standards, Controls, and Tools team has a challenging opportunity for a Project
- Manager advisor to join a team of professionals based at BC Hydro's Edmonds office in Burnaby,
- BC. This position is expected to lead a group of talented and experienced Project Managers. He/
- She must demonstrate strong aptitude in establishing positive relationships with many internal and
- external groups.- Leads a sub-function or small function of the business and acts as a technical leader/expert

internally across functions/business units and externally; provides regular and significant
- coaching/mentoring and development, acts as a role model and engages in self-development
- through personal leadership.- Supports continuous improvement initiatives in analysis and problem solving on medium

complex, scope problems. Leads continuous improvement teams comprised of individuals across
- organizational boundaries, makes strategic decisions within function/business unit.- Review, develop and enhance methods and procedures to take advantage of new technology.

Improve department effectiveness and efficiency.- Manages resources and recommends/sets schedules and project timelines with regards to

initiatives.- Demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication, time management, conflict resolution,

and interpersonal skills.- Prepares status reports and provides inputs to the team’s scorecard and dashboards
- Provides advice and guidance to internal/external clients and manages key consultative and

ongoing relationships; encourages the development of peer relationships and champions
- teamwork- Supports teams delivering projects ranging from under one million to over fifty million dollars
- Highly knowledgeable on standards, policies, practices and procedures, contributing to the

development of standards as well as enforcing/modeling standards- Coordinates the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards for the

formal management of contracts including both the provision and receipt of various services- Leads the implementation of a Continuous Improvement team made up of individuals across

organizational boundaries- Exercises independent judgment in analysis and problem solving on highly complex and medium

scope problems, challenging guidelines when necessary- Provides feedback on the setup or performance of projects in accordance with the practices or

established PPM solution guidelines and recommends corrective actions.- Teamwork, collaboration across business lines and delivering results are essential elements to

be successful in this role**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Business, Computer Science, or

Engineering (experience in lieu will be considered) with at least 8 years’ progressive experience in
- Project Management and/or Project Controls.- Experience in SAP, P6, SharePoint, and PMP certification will be an asset.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications, planning, negotiating and organizational

skills.- Demonstrated experience in successful change management initiatives.
- Proven ability in leading teams and leveraging resources and processes across a complex

organization would be an advantage.**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**
- A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain the following requirements in good
- standing:

- Driver's License Type = Class 5
- In addition, the following skillsets are desired:
- Keen grasp of various scheduling schemes particularly around contracted activities with

milestone payments.- Ability to run reports from various source systems and consolidate into one comprehensive

report.- A strong project management background complemented by demonstrable experience in

scheduling and cost control will be an advantage.- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel; experienced user of MS Applications including Word,

Access and Visio.
