Manitoba Economic Development, Investment, Trade and Natural Resources is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Manager Industry & Sector Support within Business and Industry Training Supports Branch. The Manitoba government has a comprehensive benefit package which includes extended health care, health spending account, dental care, vision care, long term disability insurance, group life insurance, maternity/paternity leave, family related leave, and a defined pension plan (some pension plans allow for portability between the Civil Service Superannuation Board and employers).

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba class 5 Driver's Licence and have access to a personal vehicle for travel purposes.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout Manitoba, including driving long distances with overnight stays.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Post-secondary education in the field of Social Sciences, Education, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in organizational management, including strategic planning.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity, including human resource management practices such as coaching, recruitment, training, performance management and supportive employment.
- Ability to design and implement innovative service delivery options into projects with performance measurements.
- Ability to manage programs and budgets within a policy framework.
- Ability to prepare briefing materials and options to senior management through interpretation and analysis of policies, acts, regulations and agreements.
- Experience collaborating and consulting with internal and external stakeholders using interpersonal skills.
- Effective organizational skills including the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong written communication skills.

Desired:

- Knowledge of board governance/experience working with non-profit board of directors.

**Duties**:
As a member of the Business and Industry Training Supports (BITS) management team, the Manager Industry & Sector Support (ISS) Unit is responsible to support provincial sectoral workforce development and training; human resource development support for businesses; and specialized service delivery to companies. The incumbent is responsible for the management and administration of the sector council program, workforce development programs and services targeted at business and industry. The Manager accomplishes this by taking a lead role in planning, managing, and evaluating program outcomes that align with Divisional and Departmental priorities.
