Research Coordinator I Map Well Living House

Well Living House at St. Michael's Hospital is an action research centre that focuses on focused on actively addressing Indigenous health inequities by enhancing Indigenous led, high quality health information systems; disrupting anti-Indigenous racism in health services; and promoting Indigenous community health and wellbeing solutions.
The centre is built from a foundation of almost two decades of collaborative work between Indigenous health researchers, front line health practitioners and Indigenous community Grandparents. At its heart is an aspiration to be a place where Indigenous people can come together to gather, understand, link and share knowledge about happy and healthy child, family and community living and work together to advance high quality and culturally safe health services and programs.
We to achieve this vision by improving health policies, services and programs through knowledge work: conducting research, building knowledge networks, and providing training. In all that we do, the Well Living House is committed to using and protecting our Indigenous knowledge, languages and ways of working.
The Our Health Counts project applies Indigenous partnerships and community driven processes to generate comprehensive health assessment information that address gaps in knowledge about urban Indigenous health and wellbeing.
Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Research Program Manager, the Research Coordinator will support communications and liaison with community and research partners, research study administration, and other implementation and dissemination activities involved in Well Living House projects. Tasks will include coordinating, tracking, and completing project activities; meeting organization; scheduling and administrative support. The Research Coordinator must be highly organized, able to multi-task, and able to adhere to research protocols and work in a good way with Indigenous community partners, scientists, staff and grandparents to carry out various aspects of community partnered or community-based health equity research.
**Responsibilities**
- Performs general office duties, e.g. files and maintains documentation, records, and study information
- Liaise with and support First Nations, Inuit and Métis community and Indigenous health service research partners
- Coordinates meetings, manages meeting minutes, agendas, and follow-up action items
- Support study implementation including tracking and completion of study activities and tracking of deliverables, timelines, and budgets
- Support in coordination of study visits and gatherings, including travel plans for project stakeholders
- Assist with project implementation, including tracking of timelines and deliverables
- Maintain confidentiality of information and records in accordance with standards of ethics, protection of health information and Indigenous community requirements for Indigenous governance and management of Indigenous information (Ownership, Control, Access and Possession)
- Co-lead study operations meetings'
- Support writing and editing academic manuscripts, presentations, community research reports, and additional knowledge translation products
- Support statistical analysis planning, execution, and interpretation
- Other duties as defined by the Principal Investigator and Senior Research Associate
**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate Degree and/or Health Professional Qualification in a health or health related field
- Master's degree in a health or health related field will be considered an asset
- 2 years of Indigenous research or Indigenous community service experience
- Experience with Indigenous community-based and driven research and/or service approaches
- Lived experience or knowledge of Indigenous cultural and community practices
- Strong communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills are required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload
