Our Halifax office is currently seeking an Information Governance Specialist to join our team.
**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work closely with legal and staff teams, assisting with the management of information throughout the firm to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements and firm policies and procedures.
- Assist with the lifecycle of firm and client/matter records.
- Liaises with external vendors regarding offsite record collection, storage, and retrieval
- Supports the collation, review, update, release, transfer, disposition, or deletion of records.
- Participates in the training on procedures and guidelines related to information management.
**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- High school diploma required, college or university education preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience, preferably in records management, information governance or data management.
- The ability to analyze data and interpret information to improve the management of client and administrative records.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of firm records and information.
- Familiarity with the management of network file shares.
- Experience with Microsoft software, specifically, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
