The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.

This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

**COMMITTEE MEMBER OVERVIEW**

Knowledge and/or experience in any of the following responsibilities is considered an asset.

As the volunteer **Hope Engagement Lead**, you will be responsible for:

- Developing a Participant of Hope outreach strategy to increase participation.
- Creating a meaningful and memorable event experience for Participants of Hope
- Designing a fun, engaging, and inclusive Hope Lounge, in collaboration with the Run Day Experience Lead and Corporate Outreach Lead.
- Communicating with registered Participants of Hope throughout the event season.
- Identifying Participant of Hope storytellers and/or spokespeople.
- Connecting with the Metastatic Breast Cancer (mBC) Team in your local community
- Participants of Hope include breast cancer survivors, people living with breast cancer, people living with metastatic breast cancer (mBC), and those who carry a genetic risk for the disease (BRCA1 or BRCA2)._

**TIME COMMITMENT**
- This is a 6-month commitment (May through October).
- Attending local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly).
- Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 2-4 hours per month).
- Must be available over the event weekend (September 30 & October 1).

La Course à la vie CIBC de la Société canadienne du cancer est une marche ou une course de 5 km ou 1 km. Il s'agit du plus grand événement d'une journée organisé par des bénévoles au Canada pour soutenir la cause du cancer du sein.

Cette année, l’événement aura lieu dimanche le 1er octobre 2023.

**APERÇU DES MEMBRES DU COMITÉ**

La connaissance et/ou l'expérience de l'une des responsabilités suivantes est considérée comme un atout.

En tant que bénévole **Responsable de l’engagement de l’espoir**, vous serez responsable de ce qui suit:

- Élaborer une stratégie de sensibilisation des participants de l'espoir pour accroître la participation.
- Créez une expérience significative et mémorable pour les participants d'espoir présents à l'événement.
- Concevoir un salon de l’espoir amusant, attrayant et inclusif, en collaboration avec le responsable de l'expérience du jour de l’événement et le responsable de l'engagement des entreprises.
- Communiquer avec les participants d'espoir inscrits tout au long de la saison des événements et aider à répondre à toutes leurs questions.
- Aidez à identifier les conteurs et/ou les porte-parole de participant d’espoir.
- Promouvoir activement l'opportunité de former une équipe sur le cancer du sein métastatique dans votre communauté locale.
- Les participants d’espoir sont des survivants du cancer du sein, des personnes vivant avec un cancer du sein, des personnes vivant avec un cancer du sein métastatique (mBC) et des personnes présentant un risque génétique pour la maladie (BRCA1 ou BRCA2)._

**ENGAGEMENT DE TEMPS**
- Il s’agit d’un engagement de 6 mois (de mai à octobre)
- Vous devrez participer aux réunions des comités locaux (généralement toutes les deux semaines ou tous les mois).
- Vous serez responsable d'éxécuter indépendamment les tâches associées à votre rôle (environ 2 à 4 heures par mois)
- Vous devez être disponible pendant la fin de semaine de l'événement (30 septembre et 1er octobre).

Participez dès aujourd'hui à la Course à la vie CIBC et contribuez à faire une réelle différence pour tous les Canadiens touchés par le cancer du sein.

Vous devez avoir plus de 18 ans pour postuler et remplir le code de conduite de la Société canadienne du cancer.
