**Position Purpose Summary**:
The Community Feeding Coordinator facilitates the operation of all community feeding programs ensuring quality in both product and service. This position is also responsible for the oversight of all components related to maintaining the safe and effective operation of the Regina Haven of Hope commercial kitchen.

This is a full time position at 37.5 hours per week.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Cooking, Meal Planning, and Team Leading**
- Plan menus for all Community Ministry Feeding programs ensuring meal variety and freshness as possible within budget constraints.
- Prepare, serve and/or package all food/meals according to the requirements of each program, including giving attention to special dietary needs as required, and ensuring compliance with Safe Food Handling standards.
- Coordinate with local dietician as required The Salvation Army Accreditation Standards to ensure nutritional value of meals related to effective menu planning.
- Regularly communicate with Community Ministries staff to ensure awareness of all program requirements related to food purchases and preparation.
- Sort and package all bulk food donations (i.e., daily bread) for distribution according to feeding program requirements.
- For School Breakfast Feeding Program: work with Community Ministries staff to plan meals and coordinate preparation and ensure all food and supplies are ready for delivery by Communities Ministries staff as per weekly schedule.
- Manage food and kitchen supply inventory, ensuring the best use of resources including donations, to minimize waste and ensure storage of all food in compliance with Safe Food Handling standards.
- Accurately code food and kitchen supply vendor invoices and receipts to appropriate program departments and accounts with guidance from the Operations Supervisor.
- In collaboration with the Operations Supervisor, coordinate the ordering of food and kitchen supplies ensuring complete inventory supply on a weekly basis.
- Monitor food purchases to ensure budgetary constraints are observed and foster good relationships with vendors, donors and other community partners and report to the Operations Supervisor.
- Maintain food pantry and kitchen cleanliness and sanitation practices, following guidelines for the safety and security of food and equipment and monitoring practices to ensure adherence by all staff and volunteers.
- Prepare necessary documents and record keeping in compliance with Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region and The Salvation Army Accreditation Standards.
- Inform the Operations Supervisor of any required maintenance work or repairs to kitchen equipment in a timely manner, using appropriate forms and striving to ensure regular preventative maintenance of all equipment.
- As a Team Lead, collaborate with the Community Ministries Coordinator regarding feeding program volunteer recruitment, orientation, and development.
- As a Team Lead, provide information to the Community Ministries Coordinator regarding feeding program volunteer performance.
- May also assist with planning and organizing of feeding programs as required.
- Request staff assistance with preparation and delivery of food/meal programs as necessary and provide in-scope supervision to Assistant Cooks and volunteers.
- Provide input to Corps Officer and/or Operations Supervisor regarding program planning and budget preparations.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- **Specific Program Duties**
- Deliver food/meals to various program locations in the Regina area ensuring Safe Food Handling standards are maintained during transportation:

- For School Lunch Program and Weekend Backpack Feeding Program:

- Deliver school lunches to each school in a timely manner each weekday during the regular school year.
- Communicate with school staff to ensure program is meeting the needs of the school and students.
- Maintain an awareness of the annual school calendar schedule including start and end dates, school closures and annual holiday breaks, and plan accordingly.
- For Summer Food on the Move Program:

- Deliver lunches to the specified locations in a timely manner each weekday during the summer school break, distributing lunches to those who meet program criteria outlined in the corporate funder agr
