The Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research & Treatment (CIPSRT) is looking for two talented and experienced individuals to join our Knowledge Exchange Hub and PSPNET teams as Community Outreach & Engagement Coordinators. The primary purpose of these positions is to develop an effective and efficient outreach and engagement program to support CIPSRT’s mission of helping current and former public safety personnel, their leaders, and their families to maintain and improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Key areas of responsibility for these positions include: developing outreach and engagement strategies; coordinating and implementing national outreach and engagement initiatives; liaising with external partners and sector-specific contacts to raise awareness and expand reach; and developing and managing collaborator relationships and networks, including fostering relationships between CIPSRT and public safety communities across Canada.

These positions work collaboratively with team members to identify needs, engage in planning and propose solutions. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Raise national awareness of CIPSRT services and resources;
- Coordinate Canada-wide outreach and engagement initiatives;
- Mobilize knowledge through community outreach and engagement activities;
- Monitor, evaluate and report on outcomes of outreach and engagement;
- Attend relevant conferences and events throughout Canada;
- Coordinate and plan successful national-level events;
- Lead multiple, concurrent projects that address needs identified by public safety collaborators; and
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse public safety audiences, including frontline personnel, leadership, elected officials, relevant government ministries and other community members.

Position Requirements

These positions require:
**Education and Experience**:

- A relevant undergraduate degree in a field such as public relations, marketing or human services; and
- 3-5 years of experience in:

- Community engagement, including working with multiple organizations
- Project management, particularly in a fast-paced environment, including strategy and budget development, implementation and evaluation
- Event coordination, including planning and delivering successful, large-scale events with multiple collaborators and interested parties.
- An equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience may be considered.

**Demonstrated Knowledge of and Experience with**:

- Leading effective outreach and engagement projects;
- Developing outreach and engagement strategies and implementation plans;
- Managing external relationships with a diverse group of collaborators and interested parties;
- Preparing and delivering effective presentations, in person or remotely;
- Preparing regular reporting to collaborators and leadership;
- Making informed recommendations to leadership based on collaborator feedback, evaluation, experience, and knowledge; and
- Maintaining community collaborator and interested party databases;

**Demonstrated Ability to**:

- Promote and maintain an organization’s positive public image through exceptional communication, well-organized events and other successful outreach and engagement initiatives;
- Identify potential communities to engage with and opportunities for outreach, including participation at events, sponsorship and relationship building;
- Work collaboratively to mobilize knowledge, providing expertise in community engagement and serving as a point of contact for several interested parties.
- Provide functional guidance and specialized advice to collaborators and ensure relevant policies and procedures are observed;
- Network with diverse groups across Canada to learn and understand their needs and preferences;
- Plan, schedule and coordinate events, such as webinars, forums and other knowledge dissemination opportunities;
- Communicate effectively while leading presentations, group discussions, and chairing meetings; and
- Establish and maintain effective and collaborative professional relationships with diverse groups, contributing to a respectful and inclusive work environment.
- Manage project / event scope in consultation with leadership;
- Write professionally for a variety of communication channels and audiences, including general, academic, web, media/social media, donors, students, and funding agencies; and
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment, effectively managing multiple and competing priorities;
