Our People team is seeking a hands-on practitioner to manage the strategy, design, and execution of our People technology, processes, and policies that optimize the role of the People team at Affinity. The person will bring a fresh approach and insight into how the People and Talent teams can provide the best experience for our employees, from access to information to response times, to enhanced community engagement. You will drive continuous improvement within the People Team function, drawing on standard methodologies and leading-edge HR thinking on initiatives. You'll also be responsible for supporting the administration of the benefits programs, including open enrollment, on/off-boarding employees, and maintaining accuracy across all HR/benefit systems.

**What you'll be doing**:
**HRIS/Systems**:

- Own the People/Talent systems and end-user experience, focusing on data, process and system configuration.
- Optimize our core People/Talent tools, including Ceridian Dayforce, Greenhouse (Recruiting/Onboarding), Talent Wall, Jira, Notion, and other infrastructure systems. Implement system changes when needed.
- Drive enhancements in automation, design reduction of manual processes, and simplify processes to help drive accuracy and ease-of-use.
- Develop and prepare HR reports and dashboards that tie to business goals and help leaders make informed decisions with regular operational reports/metrics, analytics and insights.
- Own our internal communication and learning materials to support all People policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the Talent team to create an enhanced onboarding experience from the point of offer.
- Collaborate with teammates in other functional areas within People Systems to ensure consistent and effective design and implementation of cross-functional solutions.
- Design and develop custom reports as required for business users and leadership.

**Benefits/Operations**:

- Own the benefits function, including carrier administration, HRIS carrier feeds, FMLA and leave administration, open enrollment process management, qualified status changes, COBRA, nondiscrimination testing, and 401k audit support.
- Responsible for assisting employees in all actions related to benefit enrollments, beginning with new hires and continuing throughout the lifecycle of benefit changes.
- Own the relationships with our benefits broker partner and key benefit providers.
- Oversee the People operations calendar in support of our People Partner to facilitate a dynamic community engagement throughout the company.
- Work with People and Talent colleagues on a variety of HR initiatives, primarily focusing on creating scalable and employee-centric processes for all People initiatives and practices.
- Submit required government and compliance reporting (e.g. EEO, DOL, OSHA, ACA, etc).
- Assist with special projects.

**Qualifications**:
Required:

- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in HRIS and other People systems administration, preferably in a startup environment.
- BONUS: experience with Ceridian Dayforce
- Three (3) - Five (5) years of experience administering U.S. benefits.
- The above can be concurrent experience.

**The skills and proficiencies we'd like to see**:

- Strong HR functional expertise with technology, operations, implementations, systems, data, and analytics.
- A thorough understanding of the typical startup employee benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, HSA, FSA, 401(k), FMLA.
- Also great if you've had exposure to parental support, such as leaves and external administrators.
- Familiarity with ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
- Skilled in written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite (especially Excel), data reporting technologies and other business-related systems.
- Data-driven and a drive for excellent processes and workflows.
- Comfortable with project management and the ability to work on multiple high-priority assignments and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A proven track record to take initiative, make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, and develop creative solutions.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality paired with the ability to maintain composure.
