Job Summary:
Reporting to the Program Director of Transit Expansion (TE) the Project Coordinator will coordinate City activities related to transit expansion. In this role, staff will liaise and facilitate effective communication and coordination between City of Toronto divisions and Metrolinx for the implementation of the GO Expansion, Rapid Transit and TTC Capital Program. This includes working with multi-disciplinary team of internal and external stakeholders to guide planning, design and construction.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Develops, reviews and Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.
- Conducts research into assigned area ensuring that such research takes into account developments within the field, corporate policies and practices, legislation and initiatives by other levels of government.
- Provides input into and administers assigned budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
- Coordinates intra-divisional, inter-divisional, and inter-agency working groups and committees to continuously develop, refresh, update and sustain the GO Expansion, Rapid Transit and TTC Capital Programs coordination protocols and procedures.
- Coordinates and supports research into assigned areas ensuring that such research/analysis takes into account developments within the field, corporate policies and practices, legislation and initiatives by other levels of government.
- Establishes, maintains and fosters linkages to other units throughout the City and other agencies to ensure effective partnerships within the Corporation and beyond.
- Participates in negotiations and discussions for the effective solution of coordination issues Coordinates technical studies and projects for the project.
- Liaises with and coordinates technical input from divisions to define the scope of projects and develops project work plans and schedules with consultants and other city staff and external agencies.
- Liaises with the public, consultants, and stakeholders across other divisions and government agencies about projects, programs and developments impacted by the transit expansion program. Prepares requests for proposals, evaluates bids and coordinates the work of consultants.
- Prepares technical and financial reports, various types of correspondence, and presentations for submission to Community and City Councils, Standing Committees, Councillors, senior staff and the general public.
- Liaises with and coordinates input from other sections, divisions, departments and stakeholders in the planning, design, and construction of all forms of infrastructure that may be incorporated in the coordinated capital program.
- Reviews and provides recommendations on cross-divisional projects, policies and reports. Negotiates innovative solutions to coordination challenges involving multiple stakeholders to achieve division and corporate objectives and mandates.
- Prepares and review reports for management related to confidential technical drawings, project schedules, financial and operational plans and business processes.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Project Management and Business or Public Administration or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in coordinating, supporting and facilitating small or large scale projects including the definition of project purpose and objective, projective activities, milestones and deliverables, monitoring and tracking progress, and communication to stakeholders.
- Experience in coordinating change management initiatives and teams and organizing complex multi-stakeholder projects to successful project completion
- Experience in reading, interpreting, and reporting on design drawings, specifications, technical reports and correspondence.
- Ability to review, interpret, develop and prepare process maps and conduct detailed and/or non
- structured research or analysis with minimum supervision, within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary environment and to work independently as required.
- Ability to gain buy-in and support from managers and senior staff on new approaches, change initiatives and implementation of best practices.
