Digital and Social Media Assistant

By spreading knowledge of human impacts on the environment, developing and delivering educational programs, conducting research, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, and advocating for effective wildlife policy and regulation, CWF strives for a future in which Canada’s wildlife is conserved for generations to come.

Position Summary

The Digital and Social Media Assistant with work with the Marketing and Communications department to provide support in creating digital and multi-media content for CWF programs including the Canadian Conservation Corps (CCC) & WILD Outside (WO). **Duties will include**:
Assist with the development of content across CWF, CCC & WO social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest)
Develop channel-specific videos and visuals such as Instagram stories & reels, Facebook video ads, TikTok videos, and YouTube pre-roll for paid Instagram giphys and organic posts
Work collaboratively with members of CWF’s, CCC & WO youth programs to develop program specific social media content for their social platforms
Assist in building community engagement with CWF, CCC & WO by helping respond to social media comments & inquiries as well as and program specific social media followers through social listening, monitoring of notifications (as directed by marketing team). and interacting, as directed
Participate in cross-departmental planning meetings for organizational campaigns and initiatives, sharing ideas and contributing to the development of marketing and communications plans
Assist in creating and recording monthly analytics and insights reports for paid and organic social media
Research recent social trends (on TikTok and Instagram), content from other competing organizations, etc.
Assist with the development and enhancement of digital presence/content for CWF programs such as Canadian Conservation Corps, Wild Outside, Canadian Wildlife and Biosphère magazines
Liaising with marketing team to brainstorm blog topics and produce written blogs.

**Eligibility**:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**International students are not eligible participants.

**Qualifications**:
Relevant experience with social media and digital platforms.
Experience creating and editing videos intended for use on social media.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
English, both written and oral. Second languages such as French would be an asset.
Effective and informative communicator in English.
Ability to multi-task between many competing priorities.

Work Conditions

Full-time at 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday for a term no shorter than 8 weeks, no longer than 15 weeks. Pending funding decisions.

**Wage**: $15.50 per hour

**Anticipated start date**: Early/Mid May

**Location**: CWF's Head Office in Ottawa, ON. Work-from-home flexibility is granted two consecutive days per week.
Extended periods of sitting.
Working in an office environment which may be noisy at times.
