**Position Description**

The General Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will lead E360S’ Western Canada Solid Waste Operations in accordance with the company’s strategic plan and operating and capital budgets. Responsible to develop and enhance best practices in operational effectiveness and implement safety practices in the Western Canadian solid waste operations consistent with practices across E360S’ operations.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Plan and control budget and expenditures.
- Develop risk management and annual business plan for the Western Canadian solid waste operations.
- Manage the financial, human and physical resources of the Western Canadian solid waste operations to ensure achievement of the plan and year over year growth and stability of the operations.
- Strategic planning.
- Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the company.
- Strategic negotiations and implementation of business contracts essential to the fiscally sound implementation of the annual business plan.
- Establish objectives for the organization and formulate and approve policies and programs.
- Select middle managers and directors.
- Coach and develop the Region’s management team to achieve objectives, and foster a performance culture, providing the support and tools to ensure team success.
- Delegate the necessary authority to create optimum working conditions.
- Represent the company in negotiations and other official functions.
- Identify and execute organic growth initiatives to achieve stretch goals for the managed operations.
- Work collaboratively with other Regional operations leaders to identify and implement cross selling opportunities.
- Examine existing business strategies and alternatives, analyze the risks, costs, and benefits of these alternatives with a view to increasing revenue, managing costs, and creating new solutions and significant operational improvements while maintaining a strong customer satisfaction level.
- Coordinate the transfer of best practices, relevant information, and internal expertise in collection and material processing operations within the organization
- Work collaboratively with other functional leaders to plan for and manage the successful integration of acquired businesses.

**Qualifications**
- At least 10 years of experience in senior operations management in the solid waste industry including not less than 8 years in Profit and Loss (P&L) management accountability for an annual budget of not less than $75 million.
- Proven history of successful Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) integration.
- Thorough knowledge of strategic planning, contract negotiations, and administration of solid waste operations.
- Direct experience working with regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of technical, transportation, logistics and environmental practices and compliance requirements of the solid waste industry.
- Proven track record of overseeing safety and accident prevention programs.
- Experience growing operations in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Proven business acumen in the solid waste industry.
